Within the last month, someone removed my old Naturalization papers, Social Security Card and expired Hong Kong ID from my safebox and later returned it. The picture on my naturalization paper looked like it was tampered with so I am concerned someone used it to smuggle a person into the country. Should I report it to immigration? I haven't used these ID's for ages since I've been a citizen for many years with a driver's license and passport (although my passport is expired). Should I also renew my passport asap to preclude someone else trying to apply for one with the "borrowed" ID documentation?
Answer:
Yes, report it. Someone may be using it.
