Why do illegals aliens have babies here when they could be inflicting hardship on them?
Answer:
Anchor babies are going to be outlawed soon as it was in Canada so lets let them get their hopes up. It is a whole new world and America is changing and anchor babies are out real soon amigos. Adios.
if they have a baby here it,s a us citizen duh
Very good question. I don't really know the answer. What I DO know is that it is for the almighty dollar. They prove this when they live 20+ in an unsanitary house that is against health standards, and the ONLY reason why they live this way is because they want more money to go back to Mexico, and nothing more than that.
don't know. if we could answer this question we could answer the question of why all the people who are in poverty and 3rd world countries keep popping babies out even though they have no way to feed them either.

I'm going to take a leap and suggest that your travel to Mexico doesn't necessarily provide you with enough information to understand the economic situation there.
If you ARE correct in your assessment, maybe people are leaving cushy jobs in Mexico to come to the U.S. for the pleasure of a life in the shadows and the thrill of risking separation from their children.
i have to agree with you. that law is twisted. 14th amendment explains it.
More children = more $$$. And money is all they care about.
Simple, they don't care about the babies they have. It's all about the benefits. That is what really irks me! People should only have kids if they can support them not to get a foothold in a country they are illegally in.
I dont know what is an anchor baby !! but if you are refering to kids born here from illegal immigrants let me tell you this ...
You talk so much crap about the law . but if you are born here regardless of your parents status you are a US citizen that is the law !! and that is not illlegal cause its the law.
they sell them too dont they?
ever been to the bad parts of Mexico? probably not. It is there where you your question is going to be answer. would you want to raise your kid in a bad place in Mexico. I don't think so. they care for their kids and that's why they are here. live with it
growing up in el paso, i used to see women in labor wading thru the rio grande in hope of getting to the other side before 'dropping.'
perhaps, we should change our laws to say any women who does this will have their baby immediately put up for adoption and promptly be sent home.
They think it will allow them to become citizens through their kids. I agree that the anchor babies should not be declared citizens because they are misinterpreting the 14th amendment. However that's what they are currently doing and until the twits in Washington wake up to the fact that THEY are breaking the law, the criminals will keep popping out dozens of kids and they will continue to be citizens.
They don't try to get benefits, they do get them. In fact, the individuals residing here illegally get just as much, if not more benefits than we, American citizens, do. Take a look at the Center for Immigration studies - The illegal alien Hispanic community is "68.7% - or - 4,808,000" and that was in the year 2000. "In just 15 years we will begin paying more in benefits (for illegals) than we collect in taxes." (Link 1)
PBS host, columnist, and presumed liberal Bonnie Erbe reports on the children born to illegal aliens:
Since their children are delivered on U.S. soil, the children immediately become U.S. citizens and "anchor" the mother (and later, the rest of her family) as future legal U.S. citizens as well.
California will get the largest chunk of this new federal outlay or almost $71 million [for healthcare]. No wonder. FAIR cites Census Bureau data showing Californians spent $10 billion last year (whew!) to subsidize education, medical care and incarceration costs for (not legal but) illegal immigrants.
Guess who's hit the hardest? Not the wealthy Hollywood types, nor the Silicon Valley billionaires, but the hard-working, low-income recent and legal immigrants. It's costing them nearly $1,200 per native-headed household to subsidize illegal immigration in the Golden State.
This is not about race. For my part, I am the granddaughter of immigrants who came from Poland, Russia and Cuba. My father's side of the family speaks Spanish as a native language and English with heavy Spanish accents. This is about preserving the quality of life for legal immigrants, and the progeny of immigrants who have come here legally since the birth of our immigrant nation.
It's also about fairness to America's working class -- many of whom are legal immigrants. Their housing, education and health care costs go up as their wages are driven down by immense competition from illegal immigrants. Where's the fairness or practicality in that? (Link 2)
Froma Harrop calls attention to the problem that "Anchor Babies" (some consider the term to be a perjorative, incidentally) pose for immigration reform and enforcement.
Pregnant women routinely arrive in the United States in time to give birth and thereby obtain Social Security numbers for their babies — and with them, permanent entrée into American society and the socio-economic benefits it offers. Once the American-born child turns 21, he or she can sponsor his or her parents and other relatives for citizenship.
Many illegal aliens already in this country make a point of having “anchor babies” that they hope will secure them a permanent status in the United States. During the recent immigration raid at the Michael Bianco factory, in New Bedford, a number of the arrested women who had American-born children were allowed to return to the community, while the childless workers were kept in detention centers.
Changing the law will not be easy. The guarantee of citizenship to any child born on U.S. soil is in a 1952 immigration act and the 14th Amendment to the Constitution, ratified in 1868. When Rep. Brian Bilbray (R.-Calif.) first introduced legislation to change the law, in 1995, stopping the anchor-baby phenomenon was considered radical.
Since then, however, our broken immigration system has made the concept more mainstream. Very few countries offer this automatic citizenship. Even France has been tightening up.
Ending the citizenship birthright need not affect any future measures to grant amnesty to illegal immigrants. What it would do is end another lure to come here illegally. (Link 3)
The Journal of American Physicians and Surgeons report includes a strong prescription for protecting the health of Americans:
- Closing America's borders with fences, high-tech security devices and troops.
- Rescinding the U.S. citizenship of "anchor babies."
- Punishing the aiding and abetting of illegal aliens as a crime.
- An end to amnesty programs. (Link 4)
European countries have done away with such birthright citizenship because they experienced the same abuses we witness. "Coyotes," dealing in human traffic, are paid exorbitant fees to shuttle pregnant illegal women across our southern border. Meanwhile our politicians and elites wink at this blatant law violation and do nothing. Our senators and representatives are parties to this illegal baby invasion and yet most Americans mistakenly trust our politicians to do the right thing.
Why should Americans allow our country to be invaded by people who do not honor allegiance to our laws? While other countries are ACTING on such abuse, the U.S. chooses to further misinterpret our 14th Amendment. It's time our Supreme Court re-examine the intent and purpose of the 14th Amendment, or it will continue to be a free pass – an entry ticket into the United States. (Link 5)
having these extra babies is like a retirement plan for the married couple. my wife's family can't even support themselves but they have large familes...they claim these children will take care of them in their old age...
However that may be... If an ILLEGAL immigrant comes to the US and has the kid, that parent may stay with that US citizen until the age of 18 when that child becomes an adult. They might have hardships but for those next 18 years It can be changed
