Sure. With 12 million of the illegal aliens here they most definately add to the fact that gas prices in my area are at $3.50 a gallon.. too much demand.

First of I find your question a little strnge but I will say definitely, no. The influx if there actually is any in illegal immigrants coming from mexico into the US is not enough people to be a measureable increase in the consumption of a nation like the United states which now encompasses more than 300 Million people. Our consumption is going up because that is what we are, we are a consumer based nation, we are all brought up programmed and instructed to do one thing, buy, buy, buy. Whatever it is that needs to be bought. Were once there was a nation of industrialites and inventor there is now a large open mouth just waiting to be fed.

But some of those day-labor and off-the-books "job-lets" would be "real" jobs - available to American citizen job-seekers - if employment regulations were enforced. Illegal aliens can get away with tax evasion, et al., which citizens cannot. In short, we have too many workforce entrants and too few jobs created. The ratio works out to roughly 7-10 workforce entrants per job created. If all illegal aliens depart or are deported, all legal immigration halted, and all temporary employment visas abolished, we still have a problem with more US-born workforce entrants than new jobs created. Illegal immigration damages our country and our citizens every day at every level. And not even the attacks of 2/26 and 9/11 have awakened many Americans to the vast dangers illegal immigration poses to our selves, our families, our communities, our society, our values, our principles, our civilization. To accept your question one must accept the premise that many illegal aliens drive gas-guzzling vehicles. I haven't seen this (not saying you haven't), but, collectively all of our behavior impacts demand.
When we in America pay less for gas than most other places, I do wonder whether our anger over still relatively low gas prices is driven by ignorance, or a sense of entitlement.
all i know is the reports said gas will be going up this summer. if we get the illegals out things will go down. i don't live off the welfare system, i pay cash for what i buy. and I'm tired of paying 30 to 40 dollars for a nights meal. the more we have to have shipped in, the more it's going to cost. it could be because there is to many people here in the states that gas is going up, and then there's the war.

The oil companies know summer is around the corner and people are going to travel in droves for vacation..It happens EVERY year, around this time, they start to gouge us, because they know many will be traveling and we have no other choice but to pay...Ever heard of high season? Hotel rates, airline prices, car rentals, they all go up during high season..SO DOES GAS..GET REAL.

Could be that the oil companys saw that our minds were occupied with what to do about immigration and not paying attention to them so they slipped in another price hike while we were not looking.

first of all, the US is a nation that consumes almost 25% of the World's oil, while we only produce less than 10%! Also, we are importing about 60% of our oil and if we continue consuming at this rate we will hit 75% by 2010. Did u know that no new oil refineries have been built in the US since teh 1970's-probably not! its about supply and demand sweetie, we as Americans love SUV's and gas operated everything, that we choose to look the other way when we pay at the pump!
