Can you have dual citizenship between United States and Malaysia?
Answer:
Yes it is true. Taking on the US citizenship does not normally mean that you loose your other citizenship (the US Citizenship Oath is not really legally binding and U.S. law does not mention dual nationality or require a person to choose one citizenship or another.) but MAlaysia has on of the strictest citizenship laws in the world. Malaysia does not recognize dual nationality and it is criminal offence for Malaysians to have multiple passports. Malaysians found holding dual citizenship are automatically stripped of their Malaysian citizenship or must immediatelly renounce their other citizenship.
Please see the US dept of state statement about that at http://travel.state.gov/travel/cis_pa_tw...

if you were born in another country and then obtained US citizenship, you are a dual citizen. You can never not be a citizen of the country you were born in, unless you took great efforts to do so
In the U.S., you do not have dual citizenship. In Malaysia, you do.
I am a dual citizen of England and the U.S.. However, in the U.S., I'm recognized as only a U.S. citizen. Whenever I travel to the U.K., I'm allowed to take the short line (citizen line) at customs, due to my U.K. birth certificate. I'm recognized as a citizen over there too. I have a U.S. passport, but as long as I have my U.K. birth certificate with me, I'm legit.
You can have both. My neighbor has bought 3 Malaysian women over the past 12 years, married each of them, got them dual citizenship, prostitutes them to corporate execs, and retired at the age of 47.
