Its not just Mexico.Its all of the America's.Do you realize how large the southern border? 2,500 miles long? What civilized country has a fence or wall lining its borders? You can built it, but it won't guarentee these people will stop coming.

Just put the employers in jail, stop giving illegals social services and punish them for identity fraud if they're using fake/stolen documents. They will leave on their own and won't bother coming here unless they go through the proper channels.

I think we should allow immigrants from other countries, Mexico for example into the United States, we're a country of immigrants. Noone, Is American, American isn't a heritage. Mexican, French, Irish, Native American, German. Those are heritages... America was stolen from it's Natives, being the Mexicans and Indians.

You would have to hire a lot of people to stand in those towers and work the machine guns. We'd then need to allow more people to enter legally to do the jobs the border guards did before they became border guards.

Yes I would, but only if the wall is a beautifully engineered one that works and doesn't allow for tower guards being paid to lower ladders. If the U.S. does a round-up I hope they arm them with democracy before sending them back.

I think we should build a temporary "wall" along the boarder and see the effects of stopping illegal immigration. If it turns out our economy suffers and social issues do not change (by social issues i mean violence and crime) we can just remove the barricade.

I want to start off by saying that I am a patriot through and through. However, I do not believe that we have the right to tell anyone they can't come into this country. I think America should be flattered that people from all over the world look at this nation to be the epitome of hope and the future. If I didn't live here, I know I'd want to. Furthermore, who are we to claim this land? God made it for the people of the world. Who are we to deny people the right to live where they want to live? I don't know...I don't think I'd like to see a wall between here and Mexico. This is a land that gives a lot of Hispanics hope. How could anyone take that away?
I totally support a bill to build a big, fat, nasty wall (really I would prefer an electrified fence hehe). Keep illegals from EVERYWHERE out of here! And for good measure, lets roundup all these mojados that are so proud of their low wage getting construction skills and make them build it before we kick their butts out! Trust me, I'd rather look at a wall then have to look at all the trash that's strewn thru the desert as they're crossing, or put up with how messed up the neighborhoods are when they move in.

To many people, I am sure the machine guns sound "barbaric" but I can bet you that not too many shots would have to be fired before the message spread that it is deadly to try to cross the border into the US illegally. Mexico guards it's borders with armed military and are known to shoot to kill. Why anyone could think that is okay but it is not okay for the US to do so, is beyond me. However, I also agree with DAR in that Visa Overstayers are a huge problem, as well. ALL the laws need to be consistently enforced and Visas need to be tracked. Employers of illegals need to be penalized severely. Illegal immigrants should not be able to access ANY social benefits, whatsoever, including schools, medical care, welfare, housing, etc. The "anchor baby" magnet needs to be scrapped. They would soon stop coming and those already here would soon leave on their own.
Angela is right. The Chinese wall was never breached, despite peoples image of of Marco Polo and the Mongols. Chine's government became so corrupt that they no longer able to man the walls and the barbarians just walked into CHina. Rome was almost as bad as well. Great Empires don't die because of foreigners attacking their country, they die with in and let their enemy take their country. Heck the Rome invited their enemy in their territory, because they were compassionate and felt sorry that the Huns were taking their home.

North Korea has never had a problem such as ours.
And that's because their solution to keeping people out is a very simple and effective one.
They use a barbed wire fence with machine guns and armed military posted along the border and anything that moves gets blasted.
No one in their right mind would ever attempt to cross over into North Korea illegally.
I would be willing as a tax payer to chip in and help pay for a fence and all the armed man power needed to keep our borders safe.
But did you know that our traitor President was in Mexico today speaking to their President about his failed amnesty bill and what he proposes to do about it?
Personally I don't think he should have been alowed back into the states upon leaving Mexico.
