Why do lots of people go to america?
Answer:
think there's a lot more opportunity and freedom than there really is.
if you live in a poor country and come here fro 10-15 years work hard save can retire nicely and early in your old country.
many Americans do that in high wage Alaska. or go to countries doing better than us..or where there are other opportunities ..
in some countries women are treated poorly and they escape here.
lots of people in parts of Mexico and other places especially when there is no work at all families are really starving so the men risk their lives live in streets or many to house to send pennies home keep them alive. calling back home is a big business
cause while some few succeed on saving their families many are miserable and homesick.
some like our weather.
some like our schools.
many, many reasons

It all boils down to the forming of this great Nation. America was all about freedom, opportunities, freedom of worship, and being able to protect these rights and privileges. The forefathers of this Nation wanted a place where men are free (originally from monarchy and religious taxation). So they all came to America or "New World" at the time. Over many years, many citizens of the world heard about this place and the opportunities it gave. Back then they were giving free land to those who can work it (which is a big deal because over in Europe and the rest of the world, the monarchy, czars, emperors, and nobles are the only ones allowed ownership of the land), prospecting for gold and minerals and keeping it, and most importantly, religious freedom. So when people around the world heard about this great place, they kept coming... and still coming to this day.
Now that being said, the foundation laid by the brave men (their actions was punishable by death) before us had paved the way for the future. America still holds these values, tradition, rights, and privileges (maybe not the free land). But no one is ever turned down to come and live in America... but you have to prove you WILL and CAN be a valued citizen first.
Opportunity and freedom. For show biz people, you haven't made it big until you made in the U.S. Look at Beckham (the soccer player) and his Spice wife. They were superstars in Europe but no one knew them in the U.S. until now. They are promoting themselves, "trying" to make it big (although I don't think Americans are that interested in Beckham since he's only a soccer player and Spice girl is too yesterday). Also, people make more money in the US.
because it's the greatest country ever
