My cousins husband tried to enter the US illegally from Mexico. Can this keep him from visiting me in Canda?

I am an Amercian citizen living in Canada. My cousin is an american citizen living in Mexico and his married to a mexican. They had a child born premature in Mexico that would died after 5 months of struggling to live. When they found out they were going to have a second child they decided to have him in the US. They were working on trying to get him a visa to come to the US. His visa didn't come and the baby was born also premature so in desperation he tried to come into the US illegally to be with his wife and baby. He was caught and sent back. He had to pay a fine but wasn't arrested. Now I would like them to come and visit me in Canada but I don't want to spend $3000 to get them here to find out that he isn't allowed in because of this. If you know anything please let me know as I am not having any luck getting ahold of anybody that seems to be able to help me and they are not having any luck getting ahold of anybody at the Canadian Embassy in Mexico City. Thanks!

Answer:
yes it can
if he is an American "citizen" then he should have no problem in getting into the US unless he renounced his american rights and citizenship. i didnt know american citizens needed a visa to enter their own homeland.

If he has a social security number, it will be documented when he applies for a visa and it may very well affect his entry into the US. If you dont have $3000 to get them to Canada and your cousin is on the "no entry list" then i guess Mexico is where they are going to stay. Tell the wife to find some good prenatal care even if they have to move to a different city to receive the proper care. They were going to move to the US to receive care anyway, a move to a different Mexican city wont be a burden.
i think it would because canada shares a border with the US and they think that he might try to get in there from canada or something. and how is he trying to get into the US if he is already a citizen?
Your story doesn't add up. WHy would an american citizen try to enter America illegally?
why is this so hard for people to get.....this person made a TYPO! her/his cousin is the WOMAN, the mexican is the MAN. geez!!! so...if he was flying from mexico to canada...i don't see why it would matter. i mean...i didn't realize canada and the US spent so much time trying to comunicate. does he have a mexican passport? why doesn't he just get a tourist visa to canada, take a plane, and go there? i don't see why it would matter..... he doesn't have a record, and he's not trying to enter the US again...just canada. i think he should file for a canadian tourist visa and see what happens. plus, the airline is responsible for covering the costs. it's their job to make sure the passenger has adequate papers for entry. if they are denied at the destination, the airline must pay for their overnight lodging and send them home, covering the airfare.
If he is married to a US citizen and has a baby that is a US citizen, why then, isn't he a citizen. I thought that that would make him one? Iguess not.
