"Tag applied for", I used to see that quite a bit a couple of years ago, Now the state has changed the laws and any vehicle with a piece of cardboard in the rear window proclaiming "Tag applied for", is almost invariably stopped, due to the change in state laws, not because it is a tactic by criminal trespassers to bypass state laws.
