Can a canadian permenant resident go to the united states with a canadian travell document ?

i mean if you have a genuine reason to go to the united states and you are in canada , you are a canadian permenant resident and you have a valid canadian travell document ,is it possible to recive a visa ?and what is chance percentage for that? ,,, thanks for your reply ..

i am Canadian... Potato is absolutely right.. if you are not a Canadian Citizen... you will need a Visa if not in a Visa waiver country..

if you are a Canadian Citizen.. you will need a passport to cross the border today... in the past... all you needed was your birth certificate or canadian citizen card...

If are talking about being a Landed immigrant(permanent resident but not Canadian citizen ) then you can not go to the USA without a visa.


If you are from one of the Visa Waiver countries

then you may be able to get in based in the Immigration officer discretion.


If you are not from the waiver countries then you need to go the US Consulate and ask for for a visa
I am a Canadian, and have never needed any document to cross the border.
This is changing, and in 2008, 0r 2009 we will be required to have a passport.
Depends on your original documents ( birth place ) , you have to apply with USA consulate at Canada for a visa and your chance is fair,unless you are from a black list country's .
