The only reason people keep crossing the border is because people are willing to hire them. If the government started throwing employers in jail the problem would go away.
The laws will not be enforced. A new bill is unnecessary; enforce the current laws and prosecute the companies that hire illegal aliens.

No which is why amnesty is a bad idea. They might "get tough" for a few years but then they will begin to lax on the laws again and in 20 years we will be in the same situation all over again.

In the 80's they granted amnesty and since we've seen the same policy of open borders and more amnesty. When is enough, enough?
No i dont think so because they are still going to want to favor these illegal immigrants and more of them will come over if we grant amnesty because they think that they will get it too.
I think that we need to enforce these laws take all the illegals out and ENFORE THE IMMIGRATION LAWS
Actually, in my opinion, granting amnesty would be sending the opposite message. It would say in a loud voice, We're to lazy to enforce our immigration laws, because theres just too damn many of you people, so f**k it your all citizens now.
I think it would also make it harder to enforce the laws we have, because then it would set precedent for future illegal immigrants to gain legal status.
"Our" government is so far into the Corporations, that it is hard to see where the one ends and the others begins. SO no they are not going to enforce anything that will make the overhead go up. At least not willingly.

No! When have they ever enforced it? I don't think most of the illegals want to be legal anyway. They're just here to take all they can off the American people and make as much U.S. dollars as possible and then go home to live like king. They have shown no love for this country, only hate. I don't trust The President to do any thing to stop them from coming in. Bush has only shown me that he care nothing for the American people and what they need.

It would be a simple thing to solve most of our immigration issues - jail the employers of the illegals!

I'm pretty jaded on the Amnesty topic. But my simple answer is "not by a long shot". How many times will Amnesty be force fed to the American people in order for certain employers to take advantage of cheap illegal labor. That's the problem and that's were they need to focus the attention. Until then, it's just going to be more of the same.
