Has your local Home Depot allow day workers to stand in the parking lot?

Answer:
It is problematic for Home Depot to try and get rid of them. Doing so based on race could lead to racial discrimination lawsuits. And any direct action would be grounds for other tort lawsuits.
Even calling the police is risky, both for the reasons above and because the police probably already know about it and because local/state police are forbidden by federal law from enforcing federal immigration laws, so the police can't do anything except look intimidating -- and they don't have time for that.
If they do, then I applaud them.
yes...one stop shopping
ya b/c they all need to get their nicotine fix.
Mine doesn't. I'm in Arizona and the day workers here have to stand in a vacant lot across the street from Home Depot.
We have a fenced Home Depot, and a guard to keep them on the outside of the fence.
Actually in many places home depot was forced to do it by local officials. But regardless I dont give them my business because they havent fought it much, as you dont hear anything from them about it. So I dont buy anything there.
I haven't seen any illegals standing in front of the Oceanside CA Home Depot. There are plenty of other places they loiter but not there.
WELLLL, there is somewhat of a story to that. It's not because home depot wants them there I don't think. Not sure about anywhere else, but the city I live in has a lawsuit against HD to make them build a shelter for the day laborors to congregate in while they wait for work. They are requiring it to be Air Conditioned and heated. THIS, is what I heard on the news and HD is fighting it tooth and nail.
Honestly, how would Home Depot know if they are illegal? Its a public parking lot, they can't go around asking people for their status, they would set themselves for lawsuits, unless they are doing something illegal in the parking lot, Home Depot can't do a thing.
Thanks. Mine doesn't but I just told them they should.
No, I have never seen any at our Home Depot. I didn't even know about their obsession with Home Depot until I started coming to this forum..
In California there are many cities that are forcing Home Depot to build shelters for the illegals to stand in while they wait for the labor pool vans and contractors.
These same city governments force Home Depot to allow them to stand around and trash their parking lots.
Don't blame Home Depot.
They are demanding a Bar type setup, for them to be built.
no day workers at home depot where i live (ohio). however, we do have criminals waiting to rob you or break into your vehicle. but that is not specific to home depot.
i work at home depot in imperial beach CA and no, we dont, we have a buff security guard and he always is kicking them out of the parking lot, they can stay at the sidewalk, but cannot go into the parking lot
