What would you do if you were an immigration officer?
Answer:
You are a freak
Find a new job. The government will not back you and will not let you do your job. If they do... then they are left out to dry on their own if any type of problem arises.
Look at those two in prison now for shooting an illegal alien DRUG DEALER sneaking into this country with pounds of pot.
I feel sorry for them.
In regards to what set of circumstances and for which country?
As far as I can tell by Ramos and Campeon not only is it a thankless job keeping drug lords out of our country but it will get you arrested and 10 - 20 years in prison in the general population, when even cops who are convicted are kept out of the general population.
In short I would not be an immigration officer, you have a target on your back and our very own government will not protect your rights against KNOWN drug lords who eventually go on to sue the US taxpayers for 5 million, and have the business card of the US Attorney General in his pocket the next time he got caught trying to cross the border with hundreds of thousands in illegal drugs.
Retire at the minimum age and reap the benefits of a defined-benefit pension (hopefully you are classified as "law enforcement"), paid health care, and so on while you do all the stuff you couldn't do while working.
Resign. Our representatives are working against us and our jobs thus become ilmmaterial!
quit

Quit my job and find another one? What would be the point? Welfare is given to those that are here illegally and no one reports them, they can apply for identification numbers through the IRS so this way they don't have to have a social security number and no one reports them. Their kids can go to school and no one reports them.
Seriously what is an immigration officer to do when the system is against them?
i would beat the crape out of every illegal i caught, then send them back, maybe then they will reconsider coming here...,.
