Reagan was a class act and the current crop of Republican activist claim to worship him, but they do not have a clue about his politics.
Reagan understood the importance of immigrants and being a society not driven by hate, but personal ambition and judging people based on their merits and abilities. Furthermore, his Republican Party was not a cultural party like the one of today, but a party based on the dislike of government and economics.

The Senate is currently considering the FY 2008 Department of Defense Authorization (H.R. 1585). Senators Specter and Leahy have offered the Habeas Corpus Restoration Act as an amendment to the bill; and Senators Durbin, Hagel, and Lugar are planning to offer the DREAM Act as an amendment.
Both of these actions, and one suspects several more to come, are aimed at resurrecting pro-illegal immigration parts of the failed immigration reform bill. Once again, Congress is ignoring the American people. Not only that, but they are trying to do it under the guise of defending our country, when in fact we know that they are doing just the opposite. We know that illegal immigrants are a threat to our security and our economy. Additionally, the Congress and Senate will also be trying to take away more skilled American jobs with an increase in the fraudulent H-1b program. Note that they are NOT trying to do anything about securing the borders or providing jobs for Americans. Once again, Congress shows that they work for foreign governments and the wealthy elite.
Write to your Congressmen and Senators today and remind them that we are watching the actions they take on illegal immigration. Remind them that we oppose the invasion of our country by illegal immigrants and that we will not stand for it. Remind them that if they sneak something through that the American people are clearly and loudly against, they will pay for it on election day.

Reagan sold us out the 1st time and now Bush is trying to sell us out for a second time. We the people of The Untied States WILL NOT stand by and let this happen again. We will not be sold to the Mexican Government nor it's people.
Edit ~ I do not have a problem with Mexican Citizens who come here legally. I have a problem with "illegal aliens" and the majority of our illegal aliens come from Mexico, especially here in Southern Calif. My best friend is Mexican. So do not label me as a raciest.

You picked a poor President to admire. I'm 43 and I lived through the Ronnie Raygun years. He loved illegals because he had cheap labor for him and his wealthy friends. Just like all the rich people now.
i'm with you 100% but don't try explaining the situation to these people...they are ignorant... i really want to see their face when the immigration reform goes through!
