Gosh, this whole immigration debate is sounding more like a set up.Nothing is going to be done to employers...In the 1986 amnesty, MANY business were fined because they were found to have illegals working there.Now, nothing will get done, sure its no "amnesty" for illegals, but neither will there be any enforcement.Convenient for businesses, don't ya think?

and many who are legal like me and have american parents and i have dual citizenship will get the best of both worlds houses on the beach and free law school and property in the usa and kids with best schooling and your job! but of course i won't be doing you laundry and raising your kids..
Yes, while this issue has been called to the attention of all Americans, we should keep it out front so that the few politicians left who love America will act to punish employers and prevent access to social services by non-citizens. It is a myth and a propoganda statement that we would have to round up 12 million illegal aliens. We can enforce policies that will discourage them from staying or coming in the first place.
Deport them all. Those that want to work the fields can get a worker visa. Pay a foreign worker tax and must renew the visa every year with proof that you are employed AND have paid taxes and have no criminal record. No services, NO education, NO anchor babies and must have health insurance and if not deemed an emergency, you can be turned away from the ER. If you want to immigrate here you get in line.

just because they didn't pass the bill today , doesn't mean it goes away , the undocumented can find ways to work and go about their lives ,like so many have for years , this is just another hurdle they are going to have to jump! so don't go throwing parties , and screaming about how you have won another victory , no they just didn't pass the bill today!! sit back and watch .a lot will go down in the next couple of weeks
I do not mean to burst your bubble but do research on Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 and you will find out that the government promise many things to the american people and after 21 years nothing has happen. No one is going to go after their employers because big business wants Illegals in this country for cheap labor, and deporting all the Illegals would cost the U.S. a lot of money. I say do not deport them send the Illegals to war and bring home the american soliders.
And we still need to demand that the Senators, and Congress Members set aside more money to continue the crackdowns on the illegals in The U.S. Beef up the southern border, and build the double or triple lined wall to the full 840 plus miles, the infrared units, and cameras, etc... They will not sit on their @zzes this time and continue to allow them to cross or sneak in illegally.
We didn't win a victory, we ruined many people's lives! And, we never received any type of 'welfare' or 'freebies', even when we needed it, and even tho I am an American citizen. If Americans would stop being so lazy, there wouldn't even be a welfare system in place! And what if we were all deported back to where we came from?

Tell us how YOU think it is possible to find 12-20 million people. Then, how would they be processed and how would they be deported...how many buses, planes, trains would it take and who will pay for it.
The only chance for change died with the bill today. Immigration reform is dead. Those folks can all go back to work now; they are perfectly safe.
And, government isn't going to hassle commerce by locking up corporate directors and business owners who hire these folks. Government knows that commerce depends upon this cheap labor force and won't do anything to impede it.
