Why are Mexican immigrants so ambivalent about documentation?

If all legal avenues are closed to them, and it's so easy to be illegal (easy to find work, housing, send their children to school), it's no wonder they don't bother.
I'm not in favor of illegal immigration. But some of the rural areas of Mexico are so crushingly poor that if you lived there, you wouldn't be very concerned with proper paperwork either.
because it cost a lot and takes a loooong time. its easier to just come to the US undocumented. we dont do much about it anyway.
You misunderstand
They dont want to be American. They just want to use America for what benefits the nation will give them.
Their identity and loyalty, both nationalistic and social, is left in Mexico.
They dont identify themselves as Americans... or even Mexican Americans. But rather pridefully as "mexicans"... fly their flag in their cars and whatnot. Its not a cultural statement! Its a political statement!
I could give a rats asss where an immegrant came from. The question is why do they care and why do they go out of their way to advertise that fact

Because they can purchase 'documentation' for $100 at their local neighborhood park.
Easy because they don't care about American laws, American citizens or the American way of life. They just want to abuse the system so they can make money!!
They will tell you that process takes too long, you need money and other lame excuses that you see on here, but the truth is they don't want to be US Citizens! Just shows the lack of respect they have for the US of A!!!
Knowing this, why are the Americans so stupid with their border security and controls of their ports of entry. AND...... what about the foreigners coming with a tourist visa and then staying, whose fault is it. If you study the phenomenal of illegal immigration you will find that the majority of the fault is in the hands of the American citizens and government. If we were more concern, or wanted to put an end to this problem it would it been done already. So the problem is with us American to fix not the Mexicans or the rest of illegals that are coming to our country because they don't care a hoot about what we the American people think. Well, they aren't into documentation. Not all people are interested in paperworks.
Besides, most of them are just temporary workers, they see no benefit of doing documentation when they just worked temporary. Why bother to apply for full benefit when you just work part time?
If the United States of America want to receive these people, then the United States of America by themself need to the documentation on these people.
They figure they are only here for a little while to make a certain amount of money, then they will go back. Problem is, when they do go back, they find out that they cannot live on what they can make there so they are back here within months, but still carrying the myth that they are just gonna stay until they save up whatever quantity of money. They can do that for twenty years, have US citizen kids in school, buy a house and car, and still not care about learning English or becoming legal. It is a self delusion combined with outright disrespect and disregard for our country. They are encouraged to think this way by their own governments because that way they keep sending money back and do not develop any loyalty to the US.
Being legal means they can't get the free benefits
they get from the bleeding hearts.Also they would have 2 abide by our laws which they see being a criminal illegal alien they don't have 2 an can get away with it. The doc. they use are stolen an no arrests are made???If a citizen stole some 1 id we would be in jail. I don't get it do you???
yes it will be too much it will be almost impossible cause is that hard to gt legal documents( work visa, green card,or any other type of visa for that mater) if we can we will never choose to come here illegally, but the circumstances force us to do it that way.
