Not even close. I would like for that to happen, but that would require mass deportation and our government is not man enough to do that yet.
Hoping only gets you more bad legislation. Action gets you what you want. Contact your senators and congress and let them know what you want done now. We need to force feed them until they realize just who the hell they work for.
There is not the slightest chance of it. If we could find and evict all twelve million of them (which is obviously impossible), the economy would collapse, as they are holding down jobs that native-born citizens don't want to do.

I would hope so.. but people just have to change the mindset that we can't do anything about it.. of course we can. If we went around and deported any illegal which was picked up, the problem would improve. word would get around and it would be a different attitude among the illegals.. but if the current attitude of "there is nothing we can do about it" doesn't change, then the problem will not improve

Nope. It means that they can continue to pour over our borders- & they don't have to worry about any NEW laws to keep them out. "Business as usual"- in other words. In 2 or 3 years, when there are an ADDITIONAL 3 or 4 million Illegals in this Country- we're gonna have to include THEM along with the 12 million here NOW- as part of the NEXT Amnesty Bill our Government tries to pass. All that happened TODAY- was that we shot OURSELVES in the back. See you in 2009! :)
If it is left up to the government,they will not get rid of any,at this time they are hatching up another scheme to keep all of them here.
There needs to be a grass roots effort to get rid of all the garbage on capitol hill,and maybe then,as long as these suckers are in power,it wont happen.

You are so naive. They are still very much wanted here by huge corporations & American business. There are still millions of illegal immigrants here that will never leave. Nobody has won on this one.

Searching out, detaining and deporting 12 million people or a mass deportation of one sort or another is simply impossible - but detaining illegal immigrants and deporting them as they come in contact with our law enforcement officers would be a damned good start - rather than our present "catch and release" policy because the INS is too busy or understaffed to follow up on local reports. Putting some real teeth in the present laws which prohibit the hiring of these illegals would also help - but I doubt either tactic will happen.
Truth is - these people and their legal counterparts represent a huge voting block - one that is heavily democratic. The democrats don't want to lose them, and the republicans don't want to anger them - and so it goes.
It should be very interesting to see if congress goes back to the drawing board and try to come up with a reasonable and viable solution rather than act like a bunch of spoiled brats and accept the present status quo because they got spanked by their constituents.

There is no way that 12 million people can be FOUND, processed and deported..impossible. 12 million is more than the total population of Nevada, Colorado and Arizona, more than the population of New York City, more than the entire country of Denmark. There is NO WAY that many people can be found and deported.
All the Boobs who were against the bill got exactly what they deserve. 12 million illegal immigrants.who are here to say.
