Sponsor requirements needed for immigration meeting?
Answer:
what do you mean by "transcript"?
If you mean that it's a transcript that you received directly from the IRS, then it's good to go. Also, telefiling records can't be used for this purpose. And, if it's a simple photocopy of your own tax return then you will need to supply W-2 and any 1099 forms in addition to the photocopy of your return.
You no longer need to send 3 years of returns. USCIS changed this about a year and a half ago. Now you only need to provide the return for the latest tax year.
Note: If you appear to be within $1000 or less of the federal poverty guidelines (second link) for your supplied tax information, it has been my experience that you may be asked to provide additional tax returns from previous years to show your ability to maintain eligibility. Just read through the I-864 instructions. It's very self-explanatory.
Also note: That if things sour between you and your spouse before your spouse has 40 quarters of work in the US, AND he happens to apply for welfare, you will be on the hook to pay this back to the government. It has been litigated and the person (spouse of the immigrant) lost and had to pay the welfare money of his ex-spouse back to the government. It is possible that this unfortunate outcome can be avoided through a carefully worded prenuptual. It may not sound romantic, but hey! protecting your rights and assets is seldom the subject of songs.
Best of luck,

Sponsors need to have proof of status, U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident Status, current employment, tax returns for previous three years, earn above the current poverty guidelines, family of 5 needs to prove income of $29,250.00 (Wife, 3 children and immigrant husband). The IRS tax transcripts are preferred by the immigration and consular officials.
USCIS will accept copies of your tax returns, as long as they were signed before being copied. They will also accept transcripts.
