Is immigration a luxury or a necessity?

They say all the illegals in this country are doing the jobs that most Americans don't want to do. There may be some truth to that, don't get me wrong. Here is my issue. If all these illegal aliens are allowed to stay, they will continue to bring their families here and drag us down by wasting our tax dollars on their health care, kids etc...
There are people who NEED the jobs that the immigrants are doing. How many people do we have on welfare? I don't care if they think they are "beneath" certain jobs, I don't want them sucking up my tax dollars while at the same time they could be WORKING and all the criminals would be deported.
I'd have a hard time being prosecuted for something minor while they allow all the people who are here illegally stay. What does this teach everyone children?
Also, learn our language please.
If you want to recede in power like Britain did, then immigration is a luxury. If you want to stay the world's top power, it's a necessity to grow bigger.
Necessity, you see men and women working to have a better life. ha, now in america i think they are a great part of the labor force. Also, they have helped us with culture difference, ESOL, food, all this different stuff.

With a falling birth rate and people living longer i.e. fewer working young people and more old, non-working people, who else is going to pay your pension unless it is an infusion of youth from outside? The answer to your question is necessity through simple arithmetic!
Although of course, if one believes that one will never get old....
It's a luxury as long as the country can absorb people comfortably and it doesn't put a strain on the environment and the economy of that country .
When it starts changing and putting pressure on the peoples way of living , wages and comfort then it a liability .
Immigration is a necessity as long as a country has laws and enforcement to insure that those coming into it's borders meet requirements for citizenship. Immigration is a luxury for some due to the fact they are getting cheap and in some cases, free labor [since they do not have to pay health care costs or taxes for those employees they do not properly document] to perform work where others would not do it for what they are giving back in return.
ITS A NECESSITY!! People come here for better lives or an oppurtunity that isnt available in their home country. For instance, in many countries, the economy is poor and jobs are not always available. In order to support their families, they have no choice but to immigrate to a better country. Also, many immigrants have to work hard and do not the time or the money for luxury.
from what i have seen, ILLEGAL immigration has brought its benefits and its big problems..the problems: they get welfare, free healthcare and special classes at schools.all on taxpayers and the citizens of america! besides, how many more immigrants can this damn country take??? there is a limit!! we cant afford to bring in the rest of Mexico here(the reality is that the vast majority of immigrants are from mexico). i have also seen that many illegal immigrants refuse to adjust to this culture.we dont need more of those thank you very much.
I feel in a way it's a luxury to the big companies that don't want to pay Americans a fair price for their labor, knowing the illegals will do it for much less. I don't feel that Americans should be put through so much as being judge on past history, or background checks. If they are here illegally there's no way they are doing background checks on them, but they are still knocking Americans out of jobs.
First of all people immigrate because its a neccesity like my mom and dad they immigrated here to help their families out and instead of working wiht their bachelors degrees from the top universities in third world countries they ended up delivering pizza and washing restrooms but they still stayed because they needed the cash since my parents were here legally they knew it would get better but some other people saying that illegal imigrants waste our tax dollars is mostly a lie cause 97% of illegal immigrants pay their taxes and immigrants as a whole hold this country without them we wouold be on our knees begging for them.
it's a necessity because if you go to another country, you'll always be a second class citizen.
Most of the times a necessity, legally or illegally, if you are migrating to another county for better oppotunities of if you see that you are not getting anywhere in you own country then it is a necessity.
Depends on who you ask. If you ask a greedy corporate person, they will think its a necessity. If you ask a stupid American politician, they will say a luxury. Then if you actually ask an immigrant on the H1-B Visa, they will say both because they find it just as necessary to support the American economy by working for an American company; all while thinking they are in luxury for being able to work within in the states.
