I'm almost positive that they do. I was watching a programme on ITV1 yesterday called No place like home with Catherine Gee. There was a couple who had relocated to Oz and wanted to return to the UK etc.. Whilst they were showing the husband in his house in Oz he was watching British soaps and he had a Sky remote in his hand.
The digital service in Australia is called Fox, it is very much like sky. Premiership football is free on FOX and Champions league football is free on SPS. but you can buy a good satalite and pick up asian tv which most austrailian channels are free.
You want to come to Australia and you're asking about the TV channels? This is your priority? I would have thought a Brit asking about Aussie tv would have asked a question similar to "how far behind is Neighbours/Home and Away in Britian to the Australian airing? How many months will I miss?
Anyway for what it's worth I don't watch tv shows on TV so I'm not the best person to ask. We do have paid tv, (try looking up "foxtel"). I do know we have a lot of sports with foxtel, showtime, movie one, fox8, arena, UK-tv, lifestyle, discovery channel, history chanel, tv comedy, nickelodean, disney channel. I think there is also Optus that is paid tv but I'm not sure. There is a sky news but I don't know if that's the same as what you're after.
