And tech wants the huge H1B boondoggle to come back, separately, and Feinstein wants Agjobs separately and others want Dream Act, and the merits/lack of those particular portions aside, they represent opportunities for the adminstration to 'stick in cute language' like they did in the Senate Bill.

Since the American people didn't swallow Amnesty this time, I'm guessing they'll retaliate by leaving the borders unenforced, blocking any kind of positive reform that doesn't include the desired Amnesty, and punishing any states/counties/towns that try to stem the tide with local legislation by cutting thier federal funding under some pretext or another.
Then, in 2009, with a more firmly democrat-controlled congress and a democrat president, they'll try to ram it through again, only with a more generous Amnesty package.
Now what will happen do we change the laws that if a mexican child is born in America it is not an american citizen?
I think we are at war, we are being invaded by our enemies through both borders Mexican & Canadian. As soon as someone mentions Illegal immigrant, most think "Mexican" but there has actually been terrorists CAUGHT coming in through the NORTHERN BORDER. We need to wake this Government up, and get them out defending our borders in masses. NORTH AND SOUTH!!

Why does every one hate the Mexicans who sneak over? They are just coming here to help support their families back home. Mexicans pay taxes on their checks. They can't file returns on them, so the government just keeps the money. They pay rent, and electricity, and gas. they buy stuff here. And they work very hard.
You guys should be pissed off at the government for not backing the bill. If it had passed, the illegal immigrants could join unions and get paid more. Do you think a business owner wants to pay a union man $20/ hour when he can hire a mexican to do it for 7.50/hr? Let them be legal and it would help. They are already here. Let everyone enjoy the benefits of them being legal. Then they could legally marry, have kids, get a job. Do you guys also forget that we weren't here in the first place? Our ancestors came here. They were immigrants at one time too.
Does no one really care about the Arabs who come here and buy businesses, don't have to pay taxes for 3 years, and then just turn around and sell the business to another family member who just arrived?
