Has anyone ever gotten a job overseas and had to move, from anywhere at all?

when u got there, were u given a permanent resident there by the company? or u were just workin based on a foreign work visa or permit?...am considering one. i live in Canada.

Answer:
Not me, but my dad. We were not immediately made permanent residents, we had to apply for greencards and then wait 5 years before my mum could apply for citizenship.
