I really can't decide alone on how to obtain a US visa?

i dont know what type of visa i need ,i am an italian citizen and i know that the new italian passport is valid to enter the US for 3 months without a visa waiver program...i am still studying so i am thinking to finish my studies there too ,my aunt is an ameican citizen now and she lives in ohio ,...some people told me to just go for a visit and then i can change my status there but how can i do that should i obtain a student's visa or a work visa i really am confused ,still i have time to decide ..thats why i am seeking some advice from some experts here ...thanks in advance

Answer:
These people are wrong, applicants for the visa waiver do not qualify for change of status. If you what you want is to study in the U.S. you need to obtain an F-1 visa, student visa. You need to find out if the school is accredited by the CIS services. Call the school and find out what are the requirements for foreign students. They have consulars that can help you with this process. You need to be enrolled and the school will give you a I-120. Then you can apply for an F-1 visa at the U.S. consulate in Italy.
