According to Section 8 USC 1324 and 274 of the INA it is a felony to hire, harbor or help illegal immigrants regardless of religious or other beliefs. Why aren't we demanding that our laws be enforced? I know our group is demanding law enforcement today. No excuses! Just get it done. Revoke the tax exemption for all churches that are offering sanctuary to illegals or otherwise getting involved in politics or who are breaking the law.

Yes, but there was a law which said Churches were able to do it anyway, I think Clinton passed it, but I am not sure. Personally I think they should pay taxes if they do this.

Here's the typical logic of the anti-immigrant:
"Illegal immigrants are illegal because the law says so, and if they're doing something against the law then they are criminals."
God forbid you lived in the mid-19th century and ran across a fugitive slave. You'd probably report him/her and sleep soundly in the knowledge that you were upholding the wise and benevolent laws of the state.

There are 2 definitions for the word Illegal;
1. Unlawful =
A : not lawful : ILLEGAL
B : not morally right or conventional
2. Illicit = not permitted : UNLAWFUL
So, using these definitions - What is morally right about creating a different government system in country that already had native inhabitants and a form of law (be it theirs?)
Doing so fits the illegal definition (see A & B), yet it happened - no one went to jail or got kicked out of the country.
As far as illicit acts - we should let God be the judge of that, as judging people is morally wrong and a bigger sin than living/working in a country of your ancestors without proper documentation or legal permission.

Are the churches harboring illegal aliens or feeding them? Even if harboring them, there are times churches face situations where the law differs from their creed --- churches in Nazi Germany, for example, or some churches and individual Christians when slavery or laws protecting segregation were still on the books --- and have chosen to follow Christ rather than the US Code or applicable state statute. You'd think that would resonate well with the right-wing crowd that seems to be so vocal hereabouts, but not on this issue...I wonder why.
