it would be best to leave in the summer to get to Australia. I'm assuming the ships took month to travel. by the time you reached Aussie it would be winter and warn there.
It really wouldn't matter since Australia is pretty much a country that is considered the Sun-baked Land
Winter.. because it's bloody hot down here in summer. The Brits and anyone from anywhere else that gets snow just burn like crazy if they live closer to the equator than VIC.
