How to acquire the British citizenship?

Hi everyone. I hope I'd get helpful answers for this question.

My sister and I were born in Bahrain. My father is British but has the Pakistani citizenship as well. My mother is Lebanese. At that time, when we were kids in Bahrain, we didn't acquire a citizenship or an ID. My father (registered us on his British passport) which means that in that time we didn't have a citizenship or an ID, I hope you got that!!
Due to family issues, my father and mom decided to move to Lebanon. But before that and because of my father's irresponsibility and clumsy behavior add to that that he was ill too, he issued us the Pakistani citizenship instead of issuing us the British one for me and my sister in order to move to Lebanon. And before moving, my parents got divorced in Bahrain and we moved to Lebanon. And so on, He died on 1995 and left us with the Pakistani citizenship and we are residing in Lebanon since then.
BUT!
My sister and I still have a (copy of my father's British passport) as well as (copies of our birth certificates and school certificates issued in Bahrain all registered us as British) and copies of other documents. The originals were lost since my father died.
I'm asking you guys respectfully if anyone can help me in how to acquire the British citizenship?
And here's my e-mail address if anyone wish to contact me personally concerning this:

Thanks in advance.

Answer:
I think the first thing you need to do before seeing anyone is try and obtain some original copies of the documents proving your UK citizenship. Or try and obtain some original paperwork from the offices that gave your father them, hopefully they can give you some notarized copies.
Immigration will not accept just copies.

I would advise you to go and see someone at the British Embassy in Lebanon or contact someone through the British Embassy.
The problem here is, that the immigration laws have changed a few times over the years and for what I understand, since Bahrain became independent from UK in 1971, there might have been changes there too.
It is not as simple anymore to get UK citizenship then it was 20 years ago or so. People used to be able to get citizenship through their parent automatically, but not anymore, now depending on the country, and meet a criteria.
So I would strongly advise for you to see someone at the embassy to give you the right advice.
Hope all goes well
Have a cup of tea and learn to speak that silly accent.
On the website of British Embassy Bahrain it say's you need
http://www.britishembassy.gov.uk/servlet...

If claiming through the father – The father’s full (unabridged) UK birth certificate;
(if you don't have the origional you can apply for it in the place he was born)
http://www.officialrecords.co.uk/birth_c...

or if he wasn't born in Britian

The parent(s) registration or naturalisation certificate if nationality was acquired in this way.

Great question. I suggest contacting the embassy(s) themselves. They could answer your questions directly.
