Do people in this country confuse illegal immigration with legal immigration?

In my opinion everybody knows the difference even though in the media you would never know it by the words they use I do think most know and appreciate the difference.

NO, they don't. People who immigrate to the US by sneaking across our borders to find a better life do so because they can't afford to pay the excessive fees to process the paperwork, plus there's the red tape as well. It has NOTHING to do with them not wanting to become US citizens AT ALL, They DO! How do YOU know they don't want to become US citizens?

I don't think there is any confusion! we are smart enough to know when someone is taking us for a free ride. It's time to put the brakes on illegal immigration.
Everyone has a right to live a good life, to seek a good lifestyle elsewhere if they cannot get it in their own country.
Obviously the illegal immigrants are not going to do anything about becoming USA citizens since if they come out into the open they will be thrown back into their own country - duh. The USA only takes prisoners if they can fill the cages with terrorists.
No confusion on my part. It's ILLEGAL immigrants that I'm against.
