Did you see that some are suggesting an emergency supplemental to fund the full fence to persuade Republicans?
Unfortunately, this bill has many flaws, not just that one, in my opinion. What do you think?
Answer:
I think they need to abandon any idea of the bill.
First, they need to enforce all current laws, including penalizing employers of illegal aliens.
They need to build the fence already mandated by law and heavily guard it. (Esp. since Mexico threatens to tear it down.)
Divide the cost, I'll gladly pay my share.
Second, they need to deport illegal aliens who have committed further offenses within the US besides entering as a priority. Then, they should begin deporting the rest.
Third, the laws enabling "anchor babies" which the 14th
Amendment did NOT address need to be repealed.
You are right, this bill is flawed, fatally flawed.
Hopefully, the bill is the fatality.
If passed, it's a death warrant for our current society and values.
I hope those that are against the Bush deal are smart enough to realize that this is just garbage being thrown at them and not fall for it.
you know dar, we Americans want this fence so bad we can taste it. but has anyone considered sending the people who is in charge of the fence $5.00 dollars? if enough Americans sent this money to the minute men we can get the whole border fenced. i know i have sent my donation in.
That is just a token offer for those that oppose this bill to take home to their constituents. It's suppose to assure and comfort the general population of Americans who have our representatives by the balls.
And if they want a real bill proposal, and I don't give a d*mn if the opposition likes it or not, We The People should be the ones who get to throw our plans into the ring. No exceptions.
And those who are for this bill don't like the amendment sections we have in it, can take their new found little friends and go to which ever other country of their choice.
what i read in the news this evening is that bush is asking congress for 15 BILLION BUCKS (sorry, i was tired again) of our money to build the fence of 700 miles that was voted in last year. since it was voted in, why wouldn't there have been money to build it? if there was no money to build it, why did they vote on the measure anyhow? and yes, i know the 15,000,000,000 is for additional border control too. so sorry.
i also read that GW bush just has not had time to read the entire Strive Act, but that the senators FINALLY have. it's about time, don't you agree? does bush even know that no fence went up last year? why should he ask congress for "emergency funding" of such a great amount of our tax dollars?
and why did bush himself, using a straw man, the secretary of homeland security (at that) remove the part of the bill whereby illegal aliens would have to pay taxes on the $$$ they have been paid for however long they have been here? why take our $15,000,000,000 to pay for MORE security that never appears anyways when the illegal aliens do not owe even one dollar to the irs for all the time that they have lived here making CASH money?
here's what can be done:
build the 700 mile fence that was stated was going to be built last year with the funding that had to be in place, last year.
if we need, as a fact, $15 BILLION for the border, use it to help the irs audit every single illegal alien trying to weasel their way into legal citizenship (with free legal aid to be given to them, btw) in our country, then okay, let's use that money to hire AMERICAN CITIZENS to go around talking to their landlords and employers to find out what they made that is subject to taxes and penalties and interest, just like it is if you don't declare all of your income! if the irs agents can do it for YOU, i guess they can figure out a way to do it for the illegals, but, if not, we can employ our own people, much like they get employed during census years, on a temporary basis, to gather up all information regarding income and expenses of illegal aliens so that their taxes will foot the bill for border security and put it into place PRIOR to passing the bill!
within this plan, congress must enact a law requiring all employers that even employed one illegal alien for one day to declare the amount of money given to him/her. in addition, landlords will have to state under oath how much money their illegal alien tenants paid to them, how they paid them (cash, check, etc.), how long they paid them, what the total amount was that they got in the history of their residency in the building, as well as telling anything they know about how many other illegal aliens lived in the same dwelling, or even legal aliens (their families). then an audit can be done on legal aliens living in the same dwelling so that it can be determined just how much rent was paid, by whom.
part of this emergency funding of our tax dollars, 15 BILLION of them, can also be used for the temporary LEGAL AMERICAN CITIZENS that need these government jobs that are like working for the US census bureau every 10 years, to analyze costs of living over the number of years that each illegal alien has been here. that's so that the entire cost of living would make financial sense in comparison to what the employers state that they paid to them.
if it's fair for you and i to report all our income and to pay taxes on it, then it's fair that ANY "emergency funding" necessary on the entire stupid issue should be used to determine what they owe to us. as i stated above, the fence probably already had funding in place, else it makes no sense that the bill was voted in one year ago to put it up.
i want to know who these politicians think they will fool. you? me? nope, not me.
