How do we prevent Bush forcing through Amnesty?
Answer:
We can't really do anything about Bush but we can continue the heat on the Washington weasels in Congress. Don't let up on calling, emailing, writing, etc... They have to understand that most Americans don't want amnesty.
Let them know that you don't vote for pro-amnesty candidates. This will probably get them more than just pleading for them to do the right thing and vote no.
We don't need NEW laws. We need our CURRENT laws enforced! McCain, the sell-out, asked for ideas to solve the problem. I have a very simple solution. Build the fence and jail the employers! The fence will help keep them out and cracking down on the illegal hiring of these criminals will dry up the job market. We will ENCOURAGE them to leave!
Personally, I doubt it will pass. Bush won't be able to arm twist enough Senators because he has no leverage and it would be political suicide to vote for it. The house is a different matter - it's already dead! They would be too afraid to vote for it!
20+ illegal immigrants are destroying our country! We must take back America!
First, get rid of THIS secret and evil group that's been in control of everything for far too long!...

Keep the pressure on your senators.
Go to http://www.senate.gov/ . Click on “find your senators” at the upper right and enter your state and click “go.” Your senator’s names will come up, and underneath each name will be a web address for a form to write an e-mail to your senator. Click on the link, write in your name and address, and let your elected representative know what you think of the immigration bill now before Congress. Better yet, copy the mailing address and send a paper letter through the postal service, too.

I called Mitch McConnell yesterday and told him this (actually a staffer)
"This is the last time that I am calling. I REFUSE to call everyday to ensure that my senator is doing the right thing. I shouldn't have to make a long distance call 5 times a week to make sure that an elected official is doing the right thing.
I will keep a close eye on anything that Sen. McConnell does in regards to illegal immigration. Should he vote in a way that goes against what the people in Kentucky want, I will campaign against him and do all I can to ensure that he is out of office.
George Bush is irrelevant. He is out of office in 18 months. If Sen. McConnell does anything to promote amnesty, he too will be out of office in 18 months."
That is all I have to say about that.
Like the post above you let your Senators know how you feel OFTEN, I honestly do not think it will make it (the bill that is)... If it does I will honestly be shocked, even many of the heavy pushing Senators (Feinstein for example) are feeling the heat from their voter base. Keep writing or calling your Senators.
They tried to get us to drop our guard by telling us it wouldn't pass, keeping the pressure on it is our only chance!
I wonder how many pesos it takes for a President to sell out his country... for that matter how many yen did it take to buy slick Willey?
We might as well just let everyone and their freakin' family come. This country is headed for hell. I don't know why Bush is betraying us like this.. I'll support my President because that's the right thing to do, however, I do not approve of him legalizing the millions of individuals who came here. Why? It discourages and disrespects those who have come here, and those who are planning on coming.
Write your senator.
Write to your district congressmen as well.
Write to other congressmen out of your district.
Let them know what your opinions are...
and to the person who stated that they would support the president because it is the right thing to do...
No. It's not.
"Patriotism is supporting your country all the time, and your government when it deserves it." - Mark Twain
The idiots in the senate may pass it, but I don't think it will get through the House.
CONTINUE to call and email your political officials !! Don't stop.

Call me a pessimist, but I don't think there is anything we the people can do. Calling senators is all fine and good, but do they really care? I think not.
You've got 40 Dems for it and 40 Republicans against. Harry Reid says he'll bring it to the floor if Bush can get more votes. Harry really doesn't want the bill to pass and give Bush a victory. He's after Hispanic votes.
I think the bill is dead but will call my Republican senators who are waffling as they want the cheap labor for their farmers.
Write to the senators. While I do a gree that there should be reform, I think that a requirement should be like Canada has. A legitimate job or sponsor. Also the persons Identity must be POSITIVELY verified, which most people aplying for amnesty DONT have AND they should not have committed ANY felonies and no more than ONE misdemeanor.
I have no problem giving a slice of the American Pie to those who help make it. But I DO have a problem with someone who comes over here, abuses our welfare system and commits crime.
I know of a few workers here that dont drink, dont accept ANY form of welfare, their children are NEVER in trouble and are high achievers in school, they work two jobs are active in church and do volunteer work on the side. I welcome them here.
In fact, there should be a way to get rid of people who live off welfare for four or five generations, dont think they have to work, and commit crime. I have no problem giving my taxes to the family that is trying hard, but I DO mind the lady in front of me at the grocery store with name brand clothing, PERFECT nails and hair, TONS of jewelry, tattoos, reeking of beer that buys tons of name brand frozen dinners, soda and candy that pays with "the card" then gets into her Escalade and drives off.
All Republicans should email/call Ken Melman and let him know that if this bill gets signed you will be registering as an independant the next day. Please do this for the sake of our country and standard of living.
you even dont know what the bill is about!!
nobody is getting citizenship - they will have to pay fines and will only get visas for a few years.
