If this Senate bill was so wonderful, why does Bush have to convince people about its benefits? Can't the Senators read and understand the parts of the bill for themselves?
I thought it was really insulting, and over confident, of Bush yesterday when he stated, "See you at the bill signing."

its all rather strange to me too. i used to support him, but with this, now he kinda just makes me sick to my stomach that he has so betrayed our party. its my party and i'll cry if i want to....
Maybe Bush thinks his promise to the president of Mexico to do something about immigration is more important than his duty to the American people. More likely, he thinks the big profits from the explotation of slave labor outweigh the desires of the American people for sovereignty. Maybe he's dumb enough to think the new citizens will vote Republican.
Someone said in an earlier post, that he has plans to boost the army's numbers with the illegals, who knows stranger thing's keep happening.
I think hes doing it for money. Because if this passes then the illegals pay something to become legal then I'm sure the money goes to the government. And notice how he says "now is the time to do this"... yeah because hes not getting enough money for this war that hes so all about so why not make a bill that will give him millions of dollars in the end. Thats what I realized today. Its really only helping him I think... I hope it doesnt pass because how does this make American better? Its rewarding the bad with good and its just going to encourage others to do it.
