This will lead to more illegals. Why? The granted amnesty in the eighties, again in the mid-nineties and now in 2007. All the illeglas know is just wait it out and you'll be granted amnesty.
But will the politicians be granted amnesty at election time by the voters? We'll see...

And no, they will not obey this time. It'll be worse than the last amnesty.
It will be just like the 1984 Amnesty Bill, as soon as you give them a little bit, they will come pouring in and demanding more. They will not abide by these laws, they came into our country breaking the laws. They obviously have no respect for our laws or our country.
The same thing that makes US Citizens brake the laws as well. Think about that!
You have a very legitimate question and I hope then the government can go after the ones not obeying the law and deport them soonest without ands, ifs, or buts.
