Shouldn't it be made easier to come to America legally?
Why is this not the issue, rather than what to do about illegals?
Answer:
Yes I think that the whole process to come here legally needs an overhaul. One of the reasons that people come here illegaly is for that reason. To be able to come here legally the applicant has to have an education, has to have money and other things. Many of the people that come here illegally do not have a great education, they do not have money. If they had an education and money in their own land, they would not come here. So knowing that they would not qualify anyway and they need to be able to make money to feed, clothe, shelter, pay for medical bills, etc they come here to help put their famlies in a better place. They even pay for their children to go to a better school, and possibly a university so that their children have a better chance at surviving in their home country.
no, ask legal immigrants who payed alot to be here legally. why do people have to whine about everything. you get what you want then complain. go figure.
Because if you make it too easy you open the country to a bigger risk of those who aren't coming here for good reasons to get in.
Even if it is a little tough, the people that pursue citizenship really want to be part of this great country! One of my good buddies did it the right way and he is a proud man
I agree that the process could be better,,but the person applying needs to prove they will be an asset instead of burden, and many (no, not all) have criminals records here and in their country, then could never apply legally,,,,,,we need "productive" people here, not more tax burdens.
We could as a lot of why questions.

My question would be, why aren't they fixing Mexico instead of encouraging their citizens to flee the country?
No,we are already far too lenient with immigration. Research other countries like mexico for example and look at their policies.
We already have some the laxest immigration policies in the world. Name one with an easier immigration policy.
Why? The only thing that will solve our problems is to enforce our current laws. We don't need "reform."
Jail the employers to dry up the jobs! That will solve lots of problems right there!
There are reasons for the amount of immigrants we let in, it is to protect our economy and social system. Top US economists do studies to decide the amount of immigrants that our systems can handle without risking our economy or burdening the American taxpayer. Our laws are not easy but check out the laws of some of the other countries.
I am not sure if illegal immigrants are factored into the process of deciding how many people to let in annually but I am sure that the illegal immigrants actually hurt those who choose the legal route.
The economy, the social system and the taxpayer can only handle so much before it all collapses.
