Once you get married then your husband can start filling out document for a green card for you. But that is after you are married. Then, get ready for a round of interviews as well as your husband to be. They will run a background check for you and will probably ask a lot of questions about the fact that you came as a tourist, then stayed to study and change visa and now you are getting married. they will suspect you are marriyng for a permanetn visa and try to intimidate you and everything. unless of course you studied for 5 years or so, which leave enuogh time to meet someone, make it work, be proposed to and then marry...
Anyway, the husband it the one to start taking action in order for you to get the green card if you ask for it because you got marreid to a US citizen.
Once that is started, you will very quicly receive a tempory paper stating you can work legally etc, and then between a month and a year and a half later, your green card.
