I think it's because when people think of Illegal Immigrants, they think of Mexicans. A lot of people mix south americans with Mexicans and call everybody that crosses the border Mexican.
People that don't know, would also think that the MS-13 Gang is Mexican, it is not. It originated as a Salvadorion Gang in L.A.

Religious freedom and slurs are a whole different issue to an unwanted Culture and group of illegals invading American soil and stealing jobs. Come here legally--and I'm fine. But why should we open our doors to millions of foreigners?
If Mexican culture is so hip-stay in Mexico and have at it. If you're so hard working, why is Mexico so F--ked up?

I'm not quite sure who you are referring to in the anti-semitism case, but I believe that the bashing of Mexican culture is a remote issue. The bashing of Mexican culture certainly gets some media attention because sensationalism sells, add that to the fact that some people believe everything that is on TV and you have a problem. I work with, and have friends that are Mexican, they are the latest of a long line of immigrants who's culture is just starting to be incorporated into America. A section of people are afraid of change, so any incorporation of something new scares them.
It's not about your Mexican culture, it's about getting all the illegals out of our country!

I think it has come to a point where people are starting to assume Mexicans (even legal ones) are all illegal, or when they hear of 'Illegal" immigration they think "Mexico" or "Mexicans." they are starting to lose respect. i think it's not fare that people do this, and to tell people to "go back to Mexico" because they defend Mexicans or any "illegal immigrant."
I asked almost the same question and one person told me to go back to Mexico. I was born here, that person didn't like to here the truth.
I don't know but i bet some people already told you to go back to Mexico. I don't know how they can assume that. Maybe you were born here, or maybe you're already in Mexico and have never left. but i don't know.
next point. I think America is made of people and cultures from all over the world and if Mexcans don't want to assimilate, they don't have to and they can wave the Mexican flag anywhere they want. And I'm also talking about the Mexican Americans who have the right to wave whatever flag they want. remember, being American is a nationality.

I actaully had one say something terribly obscene to my 13 year old daughter and I pummeled him on the spot in front of his freinds who were terrified at the level of violence I visited upon the poor punk. I speak spanish, and I inderstood what he said. i walked up and clocked the guy and beat him into the ground. Do I feel bad? Not one bit. my daughter said what did he say, and I told her not to ask, I didnt want to say it. I havent had to dfo that in many years. Imagine my shock when yet another mexican TRIED to bully me at Homey Depot. He got stood down and invited outside for a thashing. he picked it and pursued it until my hackles were up, at a checkout counter at the store no less. Live by our laws and customs. That is how AMERICA works.
