My friend wants to move to Canada in the future but she still wants to be a US citizen. Is it possible for her

to get a duel citizenship? And if so, how hard is it to aquire one of these?

Answer:
It's totally possible to have dual citizenship in Canada.
All she has to do is first become a landed immigrant then wait the prescribed time and apply for citizenship. We don't require her to renounce her American citizenship.

She will have to file a tax return annually with the IRS as well as a Canadian return but since we have tax reciprocity with the US, the filing will be no more than a formality.
It would make more sense to become a Canadian citizen, and they are glad to have you move up there to join them.
i am an american who migrated north. married a canuk. i do not advise becoming a cnd. you can apply to be a cnd perm resident. or landed immigrant.

cnd recognized dual the us sorta does

go to www.state.gov and learn more about dual citizenship or
www.travel.state.gov and see the info on canada

for cnd immig go to my website or the cnd official site is
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/index.asp...
