Im an immigrant of the US, can i petition my bf for him to go here in the US?

i was told i can petition him and apply for fiance visa, but Im only 18 and im only an immigrant, can an immigrant file a petition? if so, how long will it take? and what age am I allowed to file a petition? and is fiance visa an appropriate way to petition my bf to live and marry me here in the US?

Answer:
From the way you are explaining it it doesnt sound like you are a US citizen I dont think you can sponsor anyone for any visa. I beleive you must be in the US legally for 5 years before you can apply for citizenship ------- http://www.uscis.gov/files/article/m-476...

That should answer all your questions and yes it is five years unless you are married to a citizen then its 3.
You didn't say if you had your citizenship or not. If you do then you should be able to file a petition. If you are 18 you would have the legal status to do so. You might want to check to be sure you boy friend wants to marry you if you can get him over here.
