Since Stalin killed 20 mil of his people (China 30/40 mil), then why is 'the holocaust' directed at Hilter?
Answer:
Firstly, are you implying that Hitler didn't kill his own countrymen? Hitler ordered the deaths of millions of Jews - some from his country and some not. Are Jews incapable of being his "countrymen"?
Secondly, yeah, Stalin murdered a lot of people. He should be widely condemned. And there are a lot of Stalin apologists, just like there are Hitler apologists. Stalin and Hitler were both despicable human beings.
The Holocaust - capital 'H' - refers specifically to the Nazi massacre, but a holocaust - lowercase 'h' - could include any mass killing / genocide. Stalin committed a holocaust called "the purges." Hitler was responsible for the Holocaust. They're both given historical weight.
Historians have lent other terms to China's massacres.
*Edit: I never said Hitler killed mostly Jews. I said he killed millions of Jews. Rescind that statement, please.
Here's why I think you're implying it. You said, "Stalin murdered 3 times as many people. And these people were his own COUNTRYMEN." You could just be saying that Stalin was bad because he killed millions of his own countrymen. You could also be saying that Stalin is worse than Hitler because he killed more people and he actually killed his own countrymen. The latter would imply that you do not see the Jews as Hitler's countrymen, even though Jews have lived in those territories over a thousand years. If you're not implying that, then I take back what I said. The way you separated the argument--"And these people were his OWN COUNTRYMEN!"--seemed rather telling.
how many Native Americans were killed by the (euro)Americans, English, French, and Spanish?
There have been many holocausts on all continents.
You answered your own question in your second sentence.
The Holocaust is what Hilter did to his people and the people he conquered (especially the Jews, but also Poles, Russian, Gypsies, etc). What Stalin did to his people is called in history, The Purge. What Mao did to the Chinese is called The Cultural Revolution. It just symatics.
and where is Stalin now? what he did still does not justify Hitlers doings.
he "only" slaughtered about 10-12 mil people?
Is this a joke?
Stalin was not in the business of ethnic cleansing. The terminologies are different but ultimately, it is NOT a competition between how many were killed.
Because Hitler did it mostly against one race of people that just wanted to get away from him, and did it in more then one country. Yes Stalin did many many wrongs also, but he did not do it as a raciest.
First let me say that Stalin killed 60 mil of his people & Mao killed over 100 mil. The reason the holocaust so played up, especially against the Aryan race is because it is a media event contro;;ed by the Jews. In fact the the Jews now control the finances of this country. Hitler made an example of them in pre-WW 2 Germany for the same reason, the Jews controlled the finances of the country but contributed nothing to it, except running the major drug & prostitution rings.
The people in the camps weren't just jews and it's ridiculous how he is targeted considering that people throughout history have done far worse. Besides that if you do the math and a bit of research, the number of people who died is much lower than is published. There is lots more that I could go into but ofcourse no one would be open to the fact that perhaps they don't know the whole story and I would be labeled so i'll not bother. That particular holocaust will never be forgotten because it's too much money for certain people to this day.
Hey, questioner:
"Also read were many people of Jewish faith made lots of $ off Jewish workers, slaving away in camps. Why do so many people of the Jewish faith run garment industries when they knowing are buying clothes from child slave workers in China?"
You see slave workers in China as a bad thing.
I see it as a good thing:
If we all boycott goods from China and buy only locally made 'slave-free' goods, these slaves won't even be alive.
I think there is an obvious distinction that must be drawn between 'forced slave labor' and 'slave labor'. There is a big difference.
If the Jews would have had that choice, trust me, they would not be slaves.
These Chinese people are choosing to be slaves.
And to the answerer above me, if you have done even a bit of research, the estimation of 6 million is ACTUALLY LOW - most likely more than 6 million Jews died.
"Recently declassified British and Soviet documents have indicated the total may be somewhat higher than previously believed."
