What does the Ukraine do to the rights of migrants (Both immigrants and emigrants)? Websites appreciated?
Answer:
I can not give you much in way of websites, only information from being married to a Ukrainian.
Emigrants from Ukraine maintain many rights. They maintain their citizenship, the right to medical care (as long as they remain "registered" to a Ukrainian address), the right to government benefits (which are trivial by US standards). The child of an emmigrant has automatic availability of Ukrainian citizenship (till age 5 or 6, I forget which), and the right to an education in Ukraine.
Immigrants have few rights until they obtain citizenship. At that point, they have much the same rights as any Ukrainian national.
But keep in mind that "rights" in Ukraine are often only as good as who you know in Ukraine. Many of the things we Westerners take for granted are not "rights" there... and even if they are, obtaining them is often difficult.
Here is a link to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine. You will find some information there: http://www.mfa.gov.ua/mfa/en/516.htm...
