If I am in Australia, and I have my baby there, what rights do I have to stay, if my Partner is a Citizen?

My partner is an Australian citizen and I will be coming to visit him on a tourist visa, what rights do I have if I have the baby there. Can I apply for a visa based on my childs citizenship? Or will I be forced to leave and apply outside of the country?

Answer:
I believe your rights wouldn't change, but your child may get Australian citizenship.
You would probably have to leave the country to apply for visa.

I know there is a loop hole that if you manage to agree with your country's embassy, you can apply from there, as the embassy is technically foreign ground.
So, technically the US embassy for example is US ground.
A friend of mine did that when he needed his visa renewed when he was down there.

If you and your partner was married you could go for the spouse-visa ordeal though, which I believe is a bit easier to get approved.
nope. The Uk does that, but AUS sends you home with your child. I know, i live here and they don't like slackers with many kids, or foreigners..

However, if you two get married, you can get citizenship sponsored thru him.
