Proud American here..and like you, I do not like everything about our government. You know, a lot of people in our country sure take advantage of their civil rights, especially the one about free speech. How ironic is it to use one of the most precious rights our country affords us, to defame that very country. I am not saying we should be robots, listening to what we are told and never questioning anything, nobody would benefit from us behaving as though we had been given a lobotomy, but it should be more of a family thing...the "I can talk about my little brother, but you better not"mentality...more and more "Americans" are so anti-government, because they think it makes them look like they are real thinkers...but ask them to defend their venom ...very few can even articulate their mad hatred, much less defend it.
ya, I'm tired of all the illegals crying and demanding rights that should be earned. they are not so patriotic if they think they deserve a free hand out. and any American that defends them is nothing more then a communist!!

I do love this country, and I am proud of it, flaws and all. But don't forget that one of the many things that make this nation wonderful is the right to dissent, and speak out. I'm not defending flag burning, but if someone has a beef with their elected politicians, if someone thinks that something needs to change, or be upheld, or whatever - then speaking out is a protected right on our soil. I'd rather turn a deaf ear on those that I disagree with, than not have the right to speak my mind.

Unfortunately, a great many Americans get a kick out of whining and complaining. To these folks, their actions are no different than rooting for the Celtics or the Redskins. It's not about what's right or wrong, they really haven't given the issues that much thought...although they'll deny that fact vehemently. It's really a 'tribal mentality'. They've simply chosen the side that roots for America to fail because they're hippie wanna-bes and this attitude helps them feel cool and rebellious while the talking heads, who have a vested interest in America's failure, continue to feed them their self serving slop.
But don't worry. It's backfiring on them in ways they never expected. For example, these folks genuinely despise the military...an organization they have absolutely no understanding or familiarity with. And yet, in order to convince themselves and others that they don't, they've repeated 'I support the military' so often that they're starting to believe it. A sort of self fulfilling prophecy and a form of self brainwashing. But that'll be our little secret, okay?
By the way, don't buy into this 'Dissent' is patriotic crap. Dissent without a viable alternative is nothing more than destructive and counterproductive whining. Any idiot can complain about the way things are going. But you 'dissent' AND come up with a better way? You'll get my respect.
Yes, you Americans complain about everything in your country, and argue about even the most simplest things. What ever happened to the Proud Americans that made this country one of the best in the world. You all need to come to an agreement and stick to it! And stop complaining about how your country sucks. People come from all over the world and endure great hardships just to live here!
The only complaining that I have heard from any citizen of the United States is the lack of enforcement of immigration laws. Living in a border state, this is a BIG ISSUE for the citizens that have to live with the reality of the lack of enforcement of immigration laws.
As to the others that complain that have no legal right to even be within this country? They can go to their own country and complain. Actually, that is really what they need to do. Running away to another country that only will say something nice about once they have left their borders - is a country that most def. needs to address its problems and it needs those citizens to form the kind of country that they want it to be. Honestly, if they really 'loved' that country so much - why they leave it? If that country really cared about their citizens - why did they do everything to help them leave - and are not happy if they return to stay?

No - I really haven't heard too much moaning and groaning about America. The people I know are very happy and proud to be Americans. People are sneaking into our country illegally so that they can live here. Who is complaining??
