In a remarkable span, the approval that people voice for the job Bush is doing has sunk to record lows for his presidency in the AP-Ipsos and other polls in recent weeks, dipping within sight of President Nixon's levels during Watergate. Ominously for Republicans hoping to hold the White House and recapture Congress next year, Bush's support has plunged among core GOP groups like evangelicals, and pivotal independent swing voters.

I'm thinking that the collective ratings for the Bush Administration and Congress will probably sink to lows that could approach single digits. Could you imagine dipping down to say, 5% or even lower?

That's why we have elections.
We are in the position we're in because the American public has become complacent in their duties. If you don't educate yourself on candidates, vote, and hold them responsible, you get what you deserve.
We, as Americans, MUST be more politically active and CARE about what is important to us. We MUST hold our elected officials accountable and force them to do what is right for US and not THEMSELVES.
Until then, they will do everything they are allowed to get away with.
well republicans voted him in again knowing he had done a poor job after his term ended. republicans dont care if theyre leader is going to do a bad job. they rather see a bad repulican president than a good democratic president.

Well, I saw him and and Putin getting cozy and talking about joint missile defense of Europe (it sounded like) and it did occur to me he might get a foreign policy 'legacy' instead of a domestic one. Barring that, I'm betting he'll slide below Truman as the least popular President, ever.
The lower their actions go in not serving the citizen's best interests, the lower their polls will go.
