Is being "anti-illegal immigrant" equal to being "anti-Hispanic (or anti-Mexican)?"?
Answer:
absolutely not. Desiring a secure border with rational immigration is not being rascist, although you could be accused of having a severe case of common sense. Too often in the US these days people throw anti this or that or rascist labels around in a flippant manner with no real thought to what they are really saying. I myself recently criticized the Isreali PM in discussions about last summer's lebanon fiasco and they didn't like what I said so they called me anti-semitic... did they mean anti semitic like the 92% of the Israeli population basically make the exact same criticism that I made which has led to the Israeli PM's current 8% approval rating?
Labels are easy to toss around, but more often than not are not accurately reflecting what the person really said.
Maybe not but look how many questions are about Mexican illegals and look how many are about Irish ones.
yeah, basically.
no, altho the illegal immigrant lobby will try to say so
Either you are an American or you aren't. PERIOD!
no...the numbers are not even close since we share a border with mexico.
For some it is yes, like Sunny.Which I gladly reported...
NO it does not...however, you just hear more about the hispanic illegals because well, there are just more of them. A lot more of them.
In YA being anti illegal means being totally against Mexicans incase you have NOT read previous posts, it doesnt apply to other nationalities cuz in an Americans mind the only illegals are Mexican!
BTW.I am NOT against anybody!
For some...maybe, but not for all.
Absolutely not. I have several Hispanic friends who were either born in this country or are Naturalized citizens, and they are very anti-illegal immigrant.
I will add that my Hispanic friends are from South America and are educated, hard-working people.
I'm anti "illegal" not anti "citizen". There's a world of difference between the 2.
I think you just answered your own question.
"Eventhough there are Asian illegals, African illegals, Irish illegals, German illegals, and so on..."
If you are against illegal immigration, the fact that there are illegal immigrants from all corners of the world, shows just that you are against something that is illegal. It's true, that some people will assume (more so in some parts of the US than others) that anti illegal immigration = anti Latino. That doesn't make you bigoted, it just makes them stupid.

Being anti illegal means Americans dont want illegals in this country,I dont give a damn what race you are,You are black,Im whatever color you decide to coat me,I AM HERE LEGALLY I WAS BORN HERE,I assume being born in this country makes me legal.I pay taxes,I work and try to raise my family and send my kids off to a needless war,for what? So illegals can burn my flag and demand rights they dont even earn,But by God im racist.Yes im anti illegal,WHY? Because they dont contribute ,they take and they hate .And they want and they demand,They can kiss my grits, and they can go to hell for all I care.I know Im making a positive difference in America, thats all that matters.I know you will to,God bless AMERICA,Lets go get some Kentucky fried chicken,Im hungry!
I think that it is turning into a racial issue more than an immigration issue. But I think it is important to protect our borders because of the threat of terrorism.
Illigal immigration does create many economic problems for the American worker that can not find a job because there are illegal workers that will work for cheap. Here in Houston there are alot.
But it is important that we remember that everyone is HUMAN. We all just want a better life for ourselves and our family. It may be true that alot of illegals do not respect our legal system because they do come here illegaly.
But, even though I am not hispanic, I think it is important that we accept all people no matter how they got here. People are just people. They want to live good, they want what is best. We have to remember that... because one day we might be illegals. You never know what might happen. We may have to "jump the river" one day. Nothing is inevitable in this world.
Why don't people talk about the hundreds of illegal American immigrants in Mexico and Canada?
No.But all the derogatory slurs and asssinine stereotyping are directed towards Mexicans only.
NO! Illegal immigration has nothing to do with race or country. It has to do with the LAW!!!!
I am strongly anti-illegal alien. I don't care where they come from but if they are ILLEGAL, they should not be here!
Oh, yeah. There's a great deal of fuss over German illegal immigrants, isn't there? Nice try.
Illegal is illegal. Deport them all as they come here with their culture and expect the USA to accommodate them. In Mexico, illegals are arrested and imprisoned in the worst of conditions. Why shouldn't it be the same in the USA?
It sickens me to see how much influence the Hispanics are causing to the country. They are a socialist culture and socialism does not work. It will bring us down in time.
no! cuz not all "mexicans" or hispanics are illegal!
And people "billy" u need to start having an open mind about things!!! think about it most of the people that come to this country don't have a college degree and are willing to work so let them. i don't agree w/people crossing over illegally but if those people are so despreat to live don't tell me u wouldn't do the same thing!?!?!! I am mexican now an american citizen and i agree that immigrants should not expect the US to accomodate to them but if the US does "so much" for other countries that are so far away why not also help their neighbors?
No, it's about the law, dummy! Illegal is illegal is illegal. A thief is a Thief is a Thief regardless of the country he's from or the language he speaks.
No, I like everyone unless they give my a reason not to and coming into this country illegally is a great reason to say i don't like them. They should all go home.
