And as for the guy up there who says there wasn't any racism when the majority of immigrants were white needs to read a little history. Italians, Germans, and Irish were ALL discriminated against (in SPITE of being "white"). But they ALL worked to become Americans and help build this incredible nation and, in so doing, won the respect of their fellow Americans.
Excellent exposure of liberal hypocrisies. They make it always about race because they need victims. When someone has no substance on issues, they go to race, sex, sexual orientation, etc

I have not seen where the media called it racist. They only seem to show the hugh crowds of Illegal demonstrating against the government making them go home.
I reject your premise- that in issues of race, members of a particular nationality or ethnicity would be homogenous in thought. That is a drastic oversimplification of the world we live in.
Media Lies. Its a huge problem. Immigration problems is not a race issue. It is a country issue. Mexico needs to enforce it's borders and provide harsh punishment for Illegal immigrants from their country. Mexico doesn't mind if their citizens hop the border.
They need to. I have mexican friends. It is not fair to the legal immigrants, whether if they are Italian or British. People who are Illegal immigrants are lazy and not ready to live the True American Dream.
Because it's only a race issue to the people who are trying to
put a guilt trip on people in an effort to gain an advantage when they know they can't win the argument on actual merit, just like some other groups who do the same thing.
And your question is.
People often say that the current opposition to immigration is racially motivated because the people immigrating into the States are non-whites. If these people were white there would be no organized opposition, that conclusion is arrived at from the fact that this nation was built by immigrants that never faced opposition, they never faced opposition because they were whites.

Both Chainsaw and Mark make a good point here. The media does look for victims, and many people, now, are always looking for an opportunity to become victims. When someone doesn't get their way, as with those in favor of legalizing the immigrates already here, they use "racist" if it could be remotely applied. However, it's an over-played 'trump card', so to speak. Like a child who's always in trouble continuously declaring, "He started it first." You're right about the media needing to step up and talk about the border crossings being illegal. Instead, they seek out the poor immigrant that has been here less than a year and has to wait four months for housing assistance. Good call on your part.
It is not at all a race issue.. and whomever tries to make it that is really just making trouble.
Americans do not dislike Mexicans, they are good honest people for the most part.. just as we are...anyone who chooses to live in this country legally is always welcome.. no matter what colour or religion or anything else.
The key word is legal.. if they are not.. then they are criminals.. no one likes criminals!
