I agree; it's crazy. If paying a gangster "coyote" to take them to the border and walking through a hot desert with tons of deadly scorpions with no water doesn't deter them, what makes these idiots think that a wall is going to deter them?..ridiculous.

The one in San Diego sure slowed them down. Crime dropped dramatically, too. Instead of a squalid crime ridden area, there is now a Neiman Marcus backed up against the border fence.

Actually the fence in San Diego works. so you are being misinformed. There also needs to be additional border guards and the laws on the books need to be enforced. If we do that the illegal problem will go reduce dramatically on its own. Fining employers, making it illegal to house and hire these people will be a big deterrence.

It wont..but whats interesting is they had already voted and passed to fund 750 miles of fence several months ago...this bill included funding for 300 miles..it would have killed the previous bill and the fence building would have been cut by over 400 miles...this bill was a farce from the begining..and to call those that opposed it racist is a cop out for pandering for votes.
Besides..it wouldn't get built in the quickest time possible..there is still a 10 mile open portion that can't be built on because it will harm the enviroment..so the idea that this is realistic is also a pipe dream.
first off not if we build it like the berlin wall my fav but its less on the fact that it keeps um out for example plp have metal gates to keep out other plp but if a person really wants in they'll get in but the person who the home is for it makes him feel protected and that whats inside these boundries is mine so its a sense of owner ship and i jusy may protect a little more if we all a moss pit and electricty and dog lots of dogs dogs need work ya know
The purpose of the wall is not to keep people out, it is so people sleep better at night thinking it will keep people out. Additionally, a Representative voting for a wall will get some Conservative votes. Of course the wall construction will be contracted so there is another reason to build it.
The billions and billions of dollars that we would put into building this "Berlin" wall would be much more devistating to our economy than you can imagine. The deportation of people who are farming our crops, building our houses, and doing those "dirty" jobs we refuse to do because we'd rather sit on welfare, would also be detrimental to our society and economy. We need to take the blinders off and see both sides and stop making decisions out of and living in fear.
