How long should it take to become an American Citizen?
Answer:
You should probably call immigration more than likely there has been a clerical screw up it tends to happen more often than not. Second do not listen to dogcatt since the dope did not read you whole statement. It seems you did everything right it is probably the fact that they did something wrong.
Maybe he needs to contact the Immigration office?
I wish I knew that answer, but took my grandmother and everyone else in my family around 1 year. Are you aure his visa and/or greencard is updated and not expired?
He should contact Home Land Security or go to a local immigration office and ask them. Make sure he takes all his paperwork and prove he is working.
It took my wife a total of 6 years before she swore in and become a citizen. I am sure others have done it sooner. Good Luck.
it will take 3 to 5 years to become an american citizen. are you sure that he applied for citizenship? if he passed the naturalization test and interview, the notice for the naturalization ceremony will take only after 3 weeks. if you are in doubt, call the USCIS National Customer Service Center @ 1-800-375-5283.
