How would you solve this problem?

Assume illegal immigrants cost me $100
(through higher taxes and all the other costs they incur)

Assume illegals help corporations by $200
(because of cheap labor and because they spend their money at Walmart)

What's my better option?

A) Kick out the illegal immigrants so I don't lose $100
B) Reimburse me $150 with money that the corporations made from illegals. That way I am better of because of immigration.

Note: We can argue over the numbers in another question...for now, let's just assume these numbers are THE numbers.

Answer:
In theory you are onto something.

However, did you notice that the Kyl amendment to make employers of the future slav-- oops temporary workers pay for 'high deductible' health insurance was voted down?

Big business has no intention of paying the cost of their workforce, and it is ruining our schools and services.

Ignoring the very real impacts on US and focusing only on 'more cheap labor' for business is what pissed everyone off so much.

however, money isn't schoolrooms and trained teachers. The impact on our schools IS our children's future. A tax break doesn't do it. It needs to be impacted facility specific, like developer impact fees.

Howabout allocating responsibility proportionate to the industry's lobbying costs on this bill? (Actually, once legalized, you will know where they were, but business wasn't even willing to pick up the costs of the NEW ones they wanted to bring...)
Make it so the corps don't make that $200 through fines, and policing, then you won't have to kick the illegal immigrants out.
A..why would a coporation reimburse you $150 that they made? Man that's typical Democrap thinking!
Let us assume that drug dealers cost me $100.00, but they contribute $200.00 to the community.

Should I allow drug dealers to continue? After all they are merely wanting a better life and drug users do so voluntarily.

What dollar value do you place on the law? That is the answer to your question.
How convenient that you make up your own figures to make wet backs look good.

Assume wet backs are deported. Our taxes will decrease. Gangs will break up. Crime rates will drop. Quality of life would increase. We would all understand each others' language.

Go ICE go! Go ICE go!
We Americans have been paying high prices for these illegals. Over 30 years we have spent over a billion dollars keeping illegals up in the U.S.A. Americans pay for everything and mad as Hell !
If the illegals are helping the corporations by reducing labor costs, then the savings are already being passed onto you as a consumer. For instance, if you had a pool built by a pool company who employs illegals, you might pay $20,000. If that same pool was built by legal American workers, it might have cost you $30,000.

Now take a look at all the products and services that are reliant on illegal labor and add up the savings.

Also consider how much illegal immigrants cost us in terms of education, prisons, healthcare, and welfare. I don't know if we come out ahead or not.
Probably won't work, corporations have found out that the Chinese are even cheaper than illegals.

So the next time you go to Wal-Mart and make fun of the Mexicans just remember that everything you're buying came from China and Wal-Mart is laughing all the way to the bank.
I like this question, but as usual, people don't give rational answers. Jeffrey C, your analogy is simply meaningless. You are equating drug dealers to undocumented immigrants. The "crimes" are not equal and the consequence of their presence (as implied in the question) is clearly not the same. This is the kind of statement that perpetuates hate.

Thanks for doing your part to attempt to bust the myth that undocumented immigrants cost the government so much money with this question.
C) Deport the illegals and speed up the process for the people who are waiting in line to come here the correct way. Then reimburse you 150 and you still save the 100 taxes. Because the legals will be paying taxes and they will still work cheap, because they will be so thankful that the process was accelerated.
If that worked, then the libertarian in me would be happy, but how are you going to get the corporations to pay the 150? You know that these guys are sneaky with their taxes and loopholes. Also, who makes the taxes? Oh yeah, bribable politicians. That and I would like to see the actual numbers. I highly doubt that the 2 to 1 ratio of income to expenses is right. I saw a report the other day that said that it was more like 1 to 1.5, saying that they sucked more money out of this economy than they put into it.
Wish it was that cut and dried. This wasn't about economics to me, it was about respecting the laws of this country. My parents applied and waited to come here. My mom waited 15 years, because she followed the laws and had respect for the country she was trying to enter.
When I travel outside the country, I respect their laws. If I don't they have the right to throw me in jail, or deport me. Fair enough.
