Would you think differently about illegal immigrants if?
I know alot of you are going to say illegal is illegal and deport all illegals.. but I think alot of animosity about illegals is from their own doing, they cut off their nose to spite their face- so I was just wondering if they had taken different approaches- and we could tell that they actually really wanted to be a part of this country- would you think differently about giving the 12 million + illegal immigrants in this country today, a pathway to legalization
Answer:
maybe, but i think it's to late. they have awaken to many Americans with their mess. no it's to late, i hold grudges.
I would think differently of them if they all went back to their home country and applied legally
No way..Illegal is criminal.
I don't like criminals.
Nope, wouldn't think differently, Illegals need to go and come back the right way, by the laws of our land .... period!
Those "bad" things you said are rights we cherish from the Constitution. It sure beats an armed insurgency!
No, we'd hate them for coming illegally. there is no sugar-coating it. If I was near that border, I'd shoot, not just stand there. Yes, they have a family, but so do rapistss and murderers, and they should be treated the same. Our country got soft, and its in the white house.
NOPE! I would feel better about the situation if they all left!
The illegal alien criminals are breaking our laws, sponging off the taxpayer, demanding rights they don't have and destroying America!
Actually, solving the illegal alien problem is really simple. If they cracked down on EVERY employer who hires illegals and put them in jail, where they belong, the job market would dry up real fast and the illegals would have to leave. We also build the fence to encourage them to not come back.
NO AMNESTY! ENFORCE OUR CURRENT LAWS! JAIL EMPLOYERS! BUILD THE FENCE!
Nope cause they would still be suckin off the titty of social programs meant for the tax paying legal citizen.
No. The damage is done. They let Americans know their true feelings and they can't take back what they did.
Let's talk about real issues, not flags. They would still cost us $2.5 trillion in social services no matter whose flag they waved.
They would still undercut the wages of working-class Americans. They would still bring TB and leprosy into the US. They would still need oil and other natural resources to support them here. They would still want their extended families to come join them in the US, and then the extended families of all the in-laws. They would continue to have a high proportion of births to single mothers. Half of them would continue to drop out of high school.
gee, that was just way too long for me to read. no, no, and no.
Nope, because they would still be taking advantage of the welfare system that is designed to help citizens. So no they are breaking the law all the way around.
The only way they could change my opinion of them is if they would leave this country and come back legally. Unless they are ready to respect our laws and become citizens legally then they will never earn my respect.
I see your point, and I don't think all illegal immigrants make demands, nor do I think they are all criminals, but no I would not feel any differently. I agree with the other posters - the U.S. needs to secure its borders. We also need to get rid of sanctuary laws so laws can be enforced. If we don't enforce our laws, then what good are they? Although, I must add that the immigration issue has nothing to do with the American people nor the immigrants. It's all part of the big picture: the North American Union, which will lead to loss of our sovereignty and eventually one-world government. (I'm sure some scoff at that and shake their heads, but time will tell...)
in a word.... NO
The marches were not to insult American citizens. They were to let the government know HOW many people were against making being in this country a felony. And penalizing the people that aid them in any way.
No. You need to do a history check. Large parts of the old Mexican territory were purchased by the U.S. government from...guess who: Their favorite hero. Santa Ana. He did this as a a corrupt leader against their wishes and, to make long story short Santa Ana wanted to get back in Mexican Favor, so, he fought at he Alamo As if much of what happened wasn't his fault. Boo Hoo Much of the territory was also Ceded peacefully to the United states. We never walked in and Just took their land. Spain did. Spain was happy to claim as much as Western and southern North America it could grab. But Spain eventgually sold or ceded it's territorries to the U.S. Seriously, It's a tired debate. There are Mexicans here illegally. Perhaps if they Focused their Protest on their OWN government then maybe they wouldn't be in the mess they are in.
The sad fact is the Mexican Government HATES it 's people. So much so that they don't even bother themselves to sanitize that piss they call water. Theft, Rape, kidnapping, drug abuse, Unemployment and corruption are rife within the cultural infrastructure. They subjugate 50% of their population as one step above dogs. (women.) How can they ever hope to thrive? The Southern part of North America(Mexico) has Natural Resources that are off the charts. We can see them from space. Do you have any idea how many jobs that could create? They Have everything from thick forrests to oil to naturally occuring Minerals (salt as one example) Unfortunately the wealthy families in charge would rather sit on these resources and play politics.
What a shame.
It's so much easier to hate America
I would think about their situation from a more caring point of view, as they are sent back to Guadalajara - Muy Pronto Senior - GEE Wally, can I have another Burrito?
If LEGAL Mexican immigrants would stop doing the things you mentioned (I personally know plenty of legal immigrants doing the disgraceful things you mentioned) I may think of those LEGAL immigrants differently. Maybe I would even think of illegal immigrants differently if the things you are mentioning ceased/began (respectively). But my position on whether or not they should be allowed to stay here would not change. The things you discuss are just a very few reasons many Americans are against allowing illegal immigrants to stay here, and they aren't even close to being the most critical reasons. I think the things you mention are just salt in a wound to American citizens.definitely not the wound itself.
Anyhow, great question, definitely gave it a star. Even though I am against being lenient towards illegal immigrants of any origin for important reasons you did not describe...I must also admit that I am offended by illegal Mexicans (and many legal Mexicans) for the reasons you did describe. I suspect these offenses do likely affect the presentation and defensiveness of many arguments some of us have against leniency, but not the underlying opinion.
illegal is illegal
illegal is a crime
illegals are criminals
NO AMNESTY
NO AMNESTY
NO AMNESTY
No. I would not think differently. They are illegal criminals and if they want to be here, they need to return to their homes and fill out the proper applications to come to this country legally. End of story.
I do not think that they are cutting off their noses to spite their face. The marches were a way of saying we are someone, we are more than trash (and that is how they ahve been treated) we do work our a$$es off, we do contribute to this society etc. etc.
The calling American's racists, that isn't saying ALL American's are racist. I have never been called a racist. I think that alot of times when racists is called, there is a reason for it (not always, but alot) I mean you can check out half of the questions/answers on here and find racist statements being said, yet when they are called on it, the poster gets all bent out of shape. Being called a racist has nothing to do with the safety nor security of our country. 95%+ percent of the people that cross our borders are not here to harm our country.
As to them waving their flag, they are proud of where they come from. As well as proud of where they are. Why should they deny their heritage to make you happy? I am an American - with bloodlines to the native Americans as well as to Germany and Ireland. Yet in my house we have both a Honduras flag, as well as a Guatemalan flag. I want my children to know their heritage and be proud of their heritage. BOTH (American and Honduran/Guatemalan) sides.
On the news you see all of the Azatlan (sp) coverage, but it is on the TV for a reason. It is sensational, it brings people in to watch the news. it brings a level of fear - "oh my goodness, those people want to take over us - what will become of us?" type of fear. it is done for a reason. Seriously if you ask a majority of illegal immigrants (both Mexican and other countries) and they are not interested in taking over the land.
Read this and tell me if you think that they have any intentions of taking a different approach. As this is what's being taught in colleges in California, Colorado, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas that I'm aware of since 1969.

ok, and if they never did any of that stuff you mentioned, how would the US know what the situation is with them??
and also, it is not only the "illegals" marching for a better life, it is people who are for them, which inculdes US Citizens.
And i don't know about you but in the Marches I went to, most of the flags (80%) were American flags. even if those other people waved other flags, they still have a deep appeciation for their culture, it also shows what type and how many people we have in this country that are getting affected by this.
