British passport?

would it be possible for my daughter to have a british passport she was born in tenerife (canary islands) has a spanish passport her fathers spanish, and her mothers british.

Answer:
yes, if she lives in britain.
Yes, it would be possible; but, under the extreme scrutiny of British authorities today, I would say it might be difficult for your daughter to obtain a British passport.

My daughter is now married to a British citizen, had a U.S. passport, and was refused entry into Britain three years ago because the person interviewing her didn't believe she was only coming to England to visit her fiance. They confiscated her passport, allowing her to stay for seven days, and then required her to return to the U.S. She had to go to the U.S. and English embassy in Los Angeles, her fiance was required to submit his birth certificate, employment and financial records, and provide documentation that he would be responsible for her while she was in Great Britain.

My daughter had paid for a two-way ticket to Great Britain, had to pay for going to Los Angeles, staying six days there, $500 for the paperwork to get her back to Great Britain, and another $500 for an airline ticket to get her back to Great Britain! She is married to a British citizen and now living north of London.

Somehow, though, there are medical doctors who have been allowed to practice in Britain, and have now been arrested for suspicion of placing bombs around London!

I understand a country's concern about anyone entering into their country; but, wouldn't you think that country would be just as suspect of people coming in from India, Australia, Bora Bora, Russia, Germany, Italy, Rumania, Iraq, Iran, Israel, or any other country as much as they are about people coming in from the United States?
Yes it's possible.. but the rules vary with the British. For example if the applicant was born before 1983 and you (the mother) was born in the UK she will be entitled to full British citizenship (but will have to apply for the citizenship and be registered first). If the child was born after 1983 the child will be entitled to British citizenship if the parents obtained their ciitzenship other than via descent.

If the child is under a year old I suggest you see about registering the child with the British embassy as this will allow her to obtain a full British birth certificate as well as the one she currently holds (which makes things easier if you want to go back to the UK).
