At what point was it that you became aware of the illegal immigrant "crisis" in America?
Before I left VA though, I read an article that said the state of VA was about to give illegal alien students in state tuition. What a bunch of BS I thought! Here I am, been a US citizen all of my life and just because I was unfortunate to have been born one, I could not go to the school of my choice because I couldn't afford to pay almost 5 times what I would as an in state student.
After that, I started getting heavy into illegal immigration and my favorite show became "Lou Dobbs Tonight" on CNN.
Now, I want to write a book on illegal immigration and it's effects on Blacks.

In 1993 I believe. I was 19 and living in Cathedral City, CA. There was massive protest against Prop. 189. It had to do with not allowing Illegal children in the school system, I believe. There were men, women and children of all ages protesting up and down Ramon Rd. I started reading up on things and realized that we have been dealing with Mexico for over 100 years when it comes to immigration.. and Regan did the amnesty thing in the 80's and we are right back where we started. It struck me as odd, that the American Public does not organize a massive protest against Illegal Immigration. The Illegals thought they did damage to the US by walking out...please... now if the Legal Americans did that. That would be making a hell of a statement.
The "Protests" last April/May. It was an eye opener for me seeing how many illegals we have here DEMANDING they have rights when they don't have any! They KNOWINGLY broke the law and are walking off SCOT FREE and getting patted on their backs for BREAKING the laws! Like getting instate tuition! I wonder WHO that THAT one up!
The illegal alien protests are waking Americans up. More and more Americans hate them now.
I want illegal aliens to protest as much as possible. It's like shooting themselves in the foot.
Driving around the streets of LA in the morning, and seeing all of them lining up outside of businesses to get a job for the day since they obviously can't file w-2s.

Nobody made you live in Texas and nobody made you go to college out of state. Texas has many good schools as I used to live there. Baylor, Rice, UTD, UT, A&M, T Tech, TCU, North Texas...

Anyone that went to college, or is going to college, knows that going out of state means you have to pay big bucks for tuition.
I'm not going to whine about my decision to go out of state. It cost $26k a year x 4 years. It was my choice and I live with it.
If illegal aliens were granted in-state then I'd be as upset as you are about it. However, I have doubts as to that actually happening as it sounds pretty ludicrous.

I am not aware of any illegal immigrant crisis. I am aware of a hatred of Mexicans immigrants crisis. I became aware of that when I moved to the US last year.
When the illegal alien criminals, that are here breaking our laws, started demanding rights, having a La Raza club in the high school, Mexican gangs moving from LA to other neighborhoods, tons of Baja California plates on crappy looking cars, etc...
Basically when I moved to Southern CA 21 years ago!!! Utah wasn't bad at that time - now it's an illegal alien haven!

Is a murder committed by an illegal immigrant more heinous than one committed by a native or LEGAL immigrant?

We have hundreds of thousands of illegal European and West Indian immigrants who use and abuse the system, yet because they "look and speak like you and me", ( you know...'American') there is no public bitchin' and moaning. Would it require too much effort on our part to actually confront immigrants who are NOT Hispanic or Middle Eastern looking?

It started shortly after 9/11, but really came to light for me when I called my bank of 20+ years and was instructed,
PRESS "1" FOR ENGLISH! Sickening! You know it's all about politicians getting votes, and since the illegals multiply like rabbits, they have plenty of votes to cast, whether they do so legally or not.

The irony is this - Most of Americans that are raising a fuss about illegal immigrants - state that the illegals are taking jobs from US citizens, and are causing health care cost ect.. to rise - where were the complaints when the big corporations moved the high paying jobs with great benefits, out of the United States to countries like Japan, China, India, ect.. ? Our Republican dominated government (back then) even gave these companies Tax breaks to do it! - Done deal, with out much protest !
Now that the jobs are overseas the companies that are still here need cheaper labor to compete with these off shore & forein companies - so, the smaller companies here are now using third party recruiting agency's (so they are not culpable for fake documents) which pay very low wages (unless the job is a "technical" job), some even go as far as importing workers from outside the USA, and for the hard labor jobs - like construction ect.. Americans want too much (if you know anything about the industry Contractors bid on the work) - So, guess who's rebuilding all the States damaged by Hurricanes, floods, fires, ect.. - back to the irony of it all - most of the complainers are wanna be Republicans, they don't know that it's only the elite "True Believers", the Cheney's, Bush's, Rove's that benefit from this "New World Order" one government ideology - they're like sheep being lead to the slaughter.
Another irony is that these wanna be Republicans need only do what they say they are best at - read your bible, it's all old news.
When they started demanding rights last year during the protests. That is when I opened my eyes to the hatred they have for Americans. I never really cared about them before that.

I've answered this before so here goes I don't know how often I will do this.
First, I saw two illegals at a traffic stop that I knew one day (they hang out for work, etc) and didn't think all that much about it.
I did however saw them later and they began to tell me what happened.
The two decided to scare people with their cars that morning. They would drive down the street and target people making like they would run them over. Unknown to them one of their victims, thank God no one got hurt, was the wife of a local police officer walking down the street.
The next morning her and her husband were parked in his cruiser waiting to see if the two cars passed again and they did, and he stopped both of them, that's what I saw them both stopped earlier that day but didn't know any of this.
I was told that when the officer saw their out of state license's (his wife identified both of them) 'he knew there was nothing he could do to us we are here illegally and had to let us go'.
Naturally I replied that it didn't sound right that it would be like that after chasing strangers with their cars to the point the police would get involved like this. The guy laughed at me. "You Americans are so stupid, you don't understand your own country. Your government not only has given me more rights than you have they are getting ready to pass more laws to give us even more of your country and you gringos don't even know it".
I told him he was full of crap and I'd look into it. That's when I found out about the House and Senate bills last year and that he was right about all they told me.
Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. They woke up the wrong dude to what is going on that day.
