Does anyone have any idea where this came from?
Answer:
Agree! I'm passing it on! Very well written!
To ricmon87: That's the whole point of the analogy - if someone breaks into your house, it's breaking the law. You should call the cops and the person should be punished! It's the same thing as when an illegal alien breaks into our country. These illegals have broken the law! They need to be punished!
And yes, America belongs to us, the Americans. That's a no brainer.
Damn Illegals.
you forgot one thing in your analogy..you let them live in your house for years before you decided to kick them out
HERE HERE! Completly agree with you on that! If only that they'd actually come here legally maybe...but I HATE the fact that it is REQUIRED to learn SPANISH at my school.too true on only in America.'cause if I went into another country, I'd really try and learn the language there, especially if I was gonna live there, but here, WE have to learn THEIR language...man to Hell with that...
Perhaps you didn't see the news or read the newspaper, but the "large demonstrations" were a "large" flop. Didn't even merit a story on the back page.
"Turnouts were not as expected" as the L.A. Times, the Phoenix Sun and others reported.
You gotta understand this, Americans are not into this issue. Those of us over 40 or 50 know that this issue has been around for 100 years or more...The only thing that has ever been done is amnesty. Government knows that their Best Friends, Big Business, depend upon this cheap labor force and they are not going to take it away...
You and others need to let it go. Amnesty is what is going to happen, one way or the other. If you want to be outraged about something, get mad about Iraq and the administration that has brought our country to it's knees politically, financially and pitted against one another.
Wrong, eh? Tell me that in a coupla months. I'm pushing 70 and have seen all this before...about every 20 years or so...it is and always shall be amnesty. Get back to me when the amnesty bill passes.
The laws are already on the books the are ill legals what part of that don't people understand. The excuse that they are doing jobs no one else want's is not a reason to allow ILL LEGALS to stay in this country. If we don't enforce these laws why enforce any laws. You don't make deals with criminals. If we can't control our own borders how can we hope to police the borders in Iraq, Afganistant,Korea, and all the other places we are deployed at.
BarB-Public demonstrations mean nothing compared to the opinion of thousands. Check your research on how many American citizens are against amnesty. Check your research on how many American citizens want the law of the country obeyed and enforced. Check your research on how many American citizens are against illegal immigration. Quite simply check your research period. Oh and your attempt to redirect is rather poor. The war on terror taking place in Iraq has very little to do with illegals breaking the law. See ya!
BarB
Don't compare American citizens to illegal aliens protesting in the streets. Illegal aliens have no rights as a citizen, the only weapon they HAVE is protest.
American citizens work and have families to support. We don't have to protest in the streets like a bunch of barbarians burning flags and acting like imbeciles. Have you seen some of these videos?? Are you actually PROUD of these "demonstrations"?
We have RIGHTS in this country. American citizens and legal immigrants have the power of vote...and we have the right to communicate directly with our representatives in government. American citizens are not sitting quietly and doing nothing. If you want to think it, go right ahead. WE are the reason the bill was shelved the first time, because of our protests to our representatives in government.
You forgot to add that in years to come you will be accused of creating slave labor and millions upon millions of people will hate you saying that you turned their ancestors into slaves by making them do all of the work you didn't want to do for slave wages.
You will have the colored people along with the Mexicans telling the same tale about how you enslaved them and the hatred will be unbearable for you.
And if you have to pay them restitution for years of 'ripping them off' it will bankrupt you and you will be totally up the creek without a paddle.
Eventually your house will belong to them and you will have to find somewhere else to live.
Or stay and suffer the consequences.
BarB-RIGHT ON!
Just hope this person, isn't middle aged, who just in the last year woke up from a coma. To once again discover the embedded era when he went AWOL from reality! Unlike one who did wake up recently after a 19-year coma. To comment how much beautiful it had become.
Can you imagine if he were to ever run across all this nonsense?:):):):)
BY THE WAY CAN'T GIVE ANY THUMBS UP.
SINCE I AM NOT HERE TO GET ANY NOR SEEMS TO BE THE CASE WITH ALOT OF PEOPLES NEW ACCOUNTS.....
It sounds as if you've read Prof. David P. Currie's book "The Constitution in the Supreme Court," and in particular the comment he had about the Court's ruling in a certain case dealing with the issue of illegal immigration.
The state of Texas had created a law (May 1975) requiring that all children enrolled in the public schools be either U.S. citizens or legal immigrants -- prohibiting illegals. A little more than two years later a lawsuit was filed in Tyler, TX challenging the law as a violation of the 14th Amendment's guarantee of the equal protection of the laws. All three levels of the federal courts came to the same basic conclusion -- the law is unconstitutionally discriminatory. The U.S. Supreme Court's ruling was by a narrow margin, 5 to 4, with Justice Brennan writing the majority opinion, for himself and Justices Blackmun, Marshall, Powell, and Stevens. (In previous cases, Justices Blackmun and Powell had taken the view that the state may constitutionally ban legal immigrants from jobs as police officers (Foley v. Connelie, 435 U.S. 291 (1978)) and that getting an education is not a constitutionally guaranteed fundamental right (San Antonio Independent School District v. Rodriguez, 411 U.S. 1 (1973)).) My "favorite" (note the sarcasm) part of Brennan's opinion for the Court is, "It is difficult to understand precisely what the State hopes to achieve by promoting the creation and perpetuation of a subclass of illiterates within our boundaries, surely adding to the problems and costs of unemployment, welfare, and crime." What a swell job of understanding the motives of the Texas legislature.
Six years after the Plyler decision, Professor David P. Currie, writing a two-volume text called "The Constitution in the Supreme Court," had harsh words for this particular decision. He wrote, "With all due respect, this is carrying solicitude a little far. Public resources are scarce and those who have no business being here can have poor claim on them. I may have a right to keep a burglar out of my house, the Court appears to be saying, but once he is there I must invite him to dinner."
Keeping it to your analogy: If I walk in and find you in my house, 2 things will happen.
I'll call the Police.
They'll call the Coroner.
that's dumb to say because if someone breaks in your house, they will go to jail.
second, i don't know how you can compare.
to some of the ignorant people below, how about if there is this Mexican mother who was almost dying of hunger and she didn't have enough money to feed her children, and she comes here to find work to at least eat, she would. and would you send her back to die? (her government won't help). so would you in fact send her back to that filth to die with her children? No one else in the vilage will help because they are in the same situation.
That sounds like a great idea, except for me having to do the house work.
Where what came from? Are you referring to your analogy, I guess it came from you even though it is exactly like the ones that have been posted here 200 times. Whom do you want me to pass it on to?
I dont know where the idea came from, but I've seen it in MyTend.com a number of times
don, they were in our yard. not everyone has hired illegals
There is nothing worst then uninvited quests!
I googled Let's say I break into your house. Let's say that when you ..
Lots of hits, mostly at opinion blogs and forums. It's apparently being passed everywhere. But only info about origin I have is that it was an "editorial by a lady".
I applaud her.
Dreamingfree, could not agree with you more...
Actually, me or my husband have done the breaking into your house analogy ourselves with debating this Mexican Invasion.
..we need to learn from history, the American Indians didn't protect their borders, and now all they have left is "token" Reservations.so... If Americans don't care about this invasion...then
.like ants (Illegals) carrying off their pray, the US victims will no longer have a house...
.and guess what, you will no longer need a house keeper!
