My application for green card (I-485) has been stuck in FBI name check for 3 years, Is there anything I can do
Answer:
The current average wait time for a green card application is 6 years. It is possible that there is nothing wrong with your records, that everyone else is also waiting for a long time.
There is nothing you can do about it because any court ruling in your favor would set legal precedent in this messy immigration processing issue and mess up the federal governments bureaucracy. Therefore, the courts would most likely dismiss your case, as there are no law that defines what is reasonable time frame. And if they do rule in your favor, I'm sure you are aware that the Bush Administration does not comply with rulings that has anything to do with homeland security.

Are you a US citizen?? Are you trying to get a Green card in the US? You may have to wait in line like everyone else. Don't waste our governments time with lawsuits

Yea thats a long time . I am just getting my green card after applying 2 years ago. I had lived in the USA 40 years and was active duty military for 4 years here (long story). Its possible , if you have a very common name like Garcia , then you will wait a while.
